Not. Even. Close.
The R is almost out of it's elements on the track, the ClubSport is so much faster.
I had my friend out in the R and I followed in the ClubSport 20 seconds later. I passed him in about 3/4 in on the out lap.
But the R is still entertaining on the track when driven at 7-8/10, but the manual gearbox has no place on a track when I try to extract 9/10 out of it. At maximum braking the car is moving side to side a bit and I had to take my hands off the steering wheel to down shift and that felt a bit unsafe. For tracking I want nothing other than paddle shift cars.
But the R is highly enjoyable to and from my track, 400km of winding mountain highways. At those leisurely pace, shifting that wonderful gearbox is highly enjoyable.

Some recent pictures of our 911R out in the wild...and at home...loving every minute of this car. The sounds, the rush...what a car. Really an amazing machine.
