Advice needed
Hi guys. Question for the group. I have a GT silver RS. Paid msrp. While I don't have the financial particulars yet I'm being offered a chance at a rare PTS (one of two) RS. I like the color a lot, PTS or not. I like my GT silver. The offer requires me to trade my RS and I will get over MSRP. Both cars virtually no miles. The PTS would be CPO. Assuming the financial piece is ok to me I'm considering (stating obvious sorry just off long flight). The issue is the PTS has sofas. I'm awaiting full build list. Thoughts?

Details, what color, how much is the PTS which are key details. Not sure I would go for the sofas in a RS. Also will it be a track car that really pushes the sofa option to a negative, but color and price may be the devil in the details atleast for me. End of the day you must live with the choice which is important. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. I will post more details on the economics when I have them. I've been asked not to reveal color for now but there are only 2 and I am not sure if the second is in the US. It likely is not a track car (no flames please) as of now I'm just not with my cars that often and I have a gt4 (in GT silver) that suits me when I make it out to the track. I'm also first on list for .2 GT3 (real first on list) so assume I will have that late next year.

It's your car never worry about that track talk enjoy how you see appropriate. Best of luck go with your gut, and PTS is special.

It's your call in the end but my only piece of advice is what's more important to you, (not the next owner), pts or lwbs? Down the road if you plan to sell it, the unique pts colour might not be "in" but I personally think lwbs could be a potential deal breaker. Good luck.

one question that you need to answer yourself
will the PTS car, being rare 1/2, interfere with your enjoyment i-e driving the car
if you will worry about the PTS car and keep driving to a minimum because of rarity and price , then you will yourself a disfavor by the trade
I personally worry about a more expensive car , and this is why I like to get a slightly cheaper car that i worry less about and thus enjoy more

It's kind of weird to me that they don't want you saying what color it is. Not sure why that needs to be a secret.
I would have have a hard time giving up the sport buckets, especially if I was happy with my current color. It would have to be a PTS color I've been wanting for a long time to consider it. PTSs are rare to begin with so a rare PTS color doesn't necessarily add anything for me. Color is personal preference though so that's something you would need to decide.

I've got sport buckets in my pts rs and they suck. There, I said it. They are cool looking, and that's it.
I daily drive my car and it's a pain in my ***. I just picked up another gt4 for a winter beater and it has standard seats, not even 18 ways. What a pleasant seat.
Yes, if you are putting on your helmet and playing race car driver, the sport buckets complete the race car costume. And they're supportive blah blah. But if you're going to get in and out of your car 20 times a day, meh.
And I've watched 5 rs go through my dealer recently without buckets. They all sold without a problem. (But it wasn't a rennlist member in any of those cases)
