My New GT3
After 5 years of driving my ~700rwhp loud as hell Challenger, it was time time for something completely different.
I looked at the Gallardo (wife hates, I love), Huracan (wife meh, I meh), McLaren MP4-12c (wife hates, I can't get out of it gracefully) new R8 plus (wife hates, all my life I've been told I look like RDJ and it would fit).
While looking at the new black R8 V10+, we went next door to Porsche Plano and looked at the Turbo S 991. After driving it, the acceleration was breath taking. I loved the ride, loved the gurgle. I was sold. I wanted to order new.
My dealer pulled strings and got an allocation and I spec'ed it out at $208k...then I did more research. Seeing 2012 ~$200k Turbo S for sale with low miles at ~$100k turned my stomach and I waffled. I keep my cars for at least 5 years and I didn't want to spend $100k to drive it.
A week later Porsche Plano has this 2015 beauty on the lot, so I went in the day it listed to drive it. Bought it on the spot and picked it up yesterday. 2k miles and like new.
I love this car! I love the sound (will probably change the exhaust), the NA power is fantastic, much closer to the supercharger in my challenger vs the turbos.
I thought I'd need AWD to experience the same or better acceleration without losing grip, but this car does it. I get the same pull as my big blown V8 with the confidence of not totally losing the rear end anywhere below 50mph. I really have to control the throttle even in a straight line in the Dodge, but the GT3 just works.
My rides now are all over the place.
Slingshot:
Challenger, forged 6.0 stroker, self installed, 14lbs boost, long tubes, headers, etc...

Great choice! I lost 25K on a 14' 911 turbo s within 300 miles......I dont think any strings need to be pulled to order one, gt3 is awesome! Next step is the RS.....How is the performance on the slingshot?

Thanks!
The slingshot is very fun. It weighs in at 1700lbs with 170hp. With a passenger and without are totally different, which recently led to me having some serious under steer and destroying the cast aluminum wheel on a curb. It could use more power, but its a great sunny day car.

Congrats! GT3 is a lot different than the Challenger. I loved my GT3 but I gotta say, I'm a big fan of the Huracan (although I've never been lucky enough to drive one). I'm surprised it was just "meh". Porsche of Plano is where I ordered my car from as well. Jeromy was my sales guy. Again, congrats and I hope you enough your new purchase. Hope to see it out on the road 👍🏼

I'm in Frisco, hope to hit some of the customer days from the Plano dealer and join the Dallas PCA, looking forward to it!

Congratulations, very similar story, went to buy a Gallardo, was treated like sh#!, didn't like the drive at all and on the way back I stopped at a Porsche dealership...991 Turbo S was described to me as "video game fast" I said, what the hell does that mean...sales guy gave me the keys and told me to push on the pedal...wow.
I ended up buying a '16 GT3 and I never looked back!

Congratulations on the GT3. How does your wife like it? (It seems she wasn't thrilled with your previous contenders.) Looks like it already has the clear side markers, so you are off to a running start!
