Default DIY: 12,000 Mile Service

The 12,000 Mile Service calls for Filter Element Change, Oil Change, and Spark Plug Change. I just rolled over 11,500. In anticipation of the Fall Smokies Trip, I wanted to get the service done. I had done my oil at the 2 year mark, so my oil change cycle is different.

FYI, I don't know what the dealer charges to do this, but guess is that it's not cheap. This is very easy to do.

Matt see my DIY on the spare plugs, super easy. You need to take off the rear bumper facia to get to the engine filters, easy, just a pain in the ***.

I didn't realize car odometers had more than 4 digits. 12,000 miles? I don't think I've owned a car with that many miles.

Lol kidding!

Nice video.

I get bored of cars quickly.
Kidding aside, I owned a 2009 C4S cabriolet for 30,000 miles and a 2015 Turbo S coupe for 21,000 miles.

They shouldn't be unless they were lose. Other possibility is a loose valve cover gasket.

I also did all the PDK service. I was the first RS to do it ever at the dealer so I'm sure its overkill but mine was probably used a bit more serious than most for the first miles.

I got raped but wanted in the dealer computer.
Will be coming up on the 2nd 10K service in a few months..

Just to show you how much Money may be saving by DIY.

Just had a 12k service done at Goldcrest; $1100 OTD including an alignment.

And how many times have the monkeys at either local Atlanta dealer (or any) crewed a team to a class win at Daytona, Le Mans, Sebring, etc.?

^You actually drive, so it makes sense to have it all logged through a dealership... cheap insurance IMO.
