Could you please share more regarding the operation of the cam, does it switch on automatically when reverse is engaged?

It does turn on automatically when in reverse. It also turns on automatically when you start to roll backwards a bit while on a hill.
Supposedly can also be wired to turn on and stay on with the touch of a console button which my installer said some guys have done who track a lot. I had used up all my buttons already for radar and laser kill and mute so I didn't do that.

Think I found the cam(s). It seems to be a thing made for VW:

I don't think that's it... it's called NavTV

I didn't buy mine myself, got it done when my laser jammers were put in so I'm not exactly sure, but $650 for the parts sounds about right.

Maybe something from here: https://navtv.com/products/category/...interface.html

edit: just texted my installer to confirm. he said "nav tv"

You want the NavTV PCM3.1 XG-CAM. It uses the CAN bus to interface to the PCM. They have another option but that module needs the PCM opened up, so it voids your warranty.

Thanks,

I was just talking about the camera itself.

I suppose you need NavTV plus a camera.

This is what I got for my DD: http://pearlauto.com

It is an amazing camera that completely eliminates any wiring, installs in under 5 minutes, is discrete, and is very effective. I live in NYC and a back up camera is a must here. After looking at many set ups literally for years, I finally found exactly what I need and am very happy with it. You can move it from car to car and the app is really, really good.

How do you have it already if it's not for sale yet?
I would install it on my GT3 but not on a daily driver because i can't imagine opening an app every time i have to put the car in reverse
