New track in BC

I just drove the track on Saturday and all I can say is wow. This is truly a fantastic track that with further development in amenities will make it world class.

Actually no. I talked to them about it but they ended up backing out and wanted the dealers to join instead.
Dilawri being cheap and refused, a pity, consider all the brands they got.
OpenRoad on the other hand is a corporate member.
PCA-PNW also dropped by to do a tour of the track this past weekend, they were on a wine tour. All were impressed at how much better the track is compared to anything else.

Make it happen! Although at this point I'd have to look for a swap of sorts - driving someone's car in Canada in exchange for letting them use my car in California. But I'll likely have something track-worthy up north by spring time.

Agreed that the track looks fun.
Some of the runoff is generous, but some is lacking. There are concrete barriers close to the track in some sections, and there are some locations where drivers can have a relatively frontal impact with concrete barrier at high speed without protection of tirewall or other impact attenuation. There are also some slopes fairly close to the track which can launch cars. There's also a section where cars can cross the runoff into oncoming traffic.
I hope and assume that most or all of these issues will be addressed as the track is completed, and meanwhile I suggest that drivers carefully study the runoff in each part of the track and adjust their driving accordingly as part of their risk management.

Fun time at Area 27 this past weekend. While the Island track was turned into a fishing pond/water reservoir, we had 3 days of great weather from Friday to Sunday. As a side note, it would seems the Island track has resort to passive aggressive wording on their own promotions, didn't mentioned Area 27 track by name but they tried to dissed them by saying with the recent storm, implying Area 27 would be closed because of snow on the mountain.........hmm, interesting to say the least.
They seems to forget that BC Ferries cancelled and delayed sailings between Vancouver and the Island during the storm, and people actually don't drive the Coquihalla Hwy, but the Crowsnest Hwy to get to Osoyoos. Most members are actually towing their dedicated track car to the track. Snow or not it's not a problem, if it's snowing on the highway they might get there later, but can still get there. Cancelled ferry sailings means one cannot get to the Island track..........
The Island track is not acting very classy or appropriate if you ask me by posting something like that publicly. Actually borderline childish. But then again they are desperate for member signups, still stuck at 60 or so while Area 27 is just about to break 200.
Anyway.
Many came out and play, cars, bikes, open wheels, track cars, race cars.
I got to put in another 100 laps or so in the GT4 ClubSport on the track and creeped under 2:20. Still have much to learn and gain.
A current Viper ACR set the fastest lap record yet, 2:11.43, clipping the 2:11.6 old record from a McLaren 675LT.
