New track in BC

It looks like a great track but coming from Alberta, I'm not sure it's practical. It's a 9 hour drive or a 1 hour flight but then you are leaving your car out there. It looks like they sold some "charter" memberships as well. Are they really only taking 300 members? Unfortunately it looks like both planned tracks in southern Alberta are facing big uphill battles.

Congrats! Are you planning to keep it at one of the local tracks or ship around to race? I'm very intrigued by the car, but cannot commit to a racing season at this time (work & kids), so that's stopping me.

Yes about 8-9 hours drive from Alberta, but the island track is another 6-7 hours away imagine THAT drive.
We still have quite a number of members coming from Alberta and they are the hardcore ones and don't mind the drive.
300 is pretty much the practical limit, don't want to get the track over crowded and the track doesn't really need extra money.

Right now I am gonna keep it at Area 27 as my track toy, but I don't rule out trying for a race season next year, my GT4CS came with the SRO package from the factory so it is already legal to race in the GT4 class and the GT3 Cup.
Porsche Canada did asked that if I get a car from them I will need to commit to a race series so I went directly to PMNA and got my car with no strings attached.

Compared to this, is there any reason to go on the the Island track?
Full disclosure: It was Richard Spenard driving my 918 on the track. He didn't push it as he didn't want to wreck my car, short shifting and all.
Richard has never driven a 918 before, let alone on a track. The video is of his first 3 laps ever in the 918. He did drove the track for just about 3 weeks straight.
Me as a amateur, cleared 200km/hr on the 3 straights when we were doing the short course, which has the turn off halfway through the main straight. On the full course I cleared 250km/hr on the main straight, which means it will be much higher in an experienced hand.
On the flying lap above, Richard set the current production car record at 2:16:62, Trevor Seibert, an ex-racer, did a 2:23 with a McLaren 675 a week earlier.
The lap times will come down once the track is rubbered in.
Richard did the lap after the end of his driving academy which I attended earlier, I just throw him the keys to my car and said go for it.

I had the pleasure of driving this track on Monday, October 3rd. What a fantastic and fun track !!
My best time was 2:28 in my 650S spider on P Zeros street tires.
A new production car track record was set by Chris Greene, a Porsche Canada GT3 Cup car driver in a 675LT at 2:11.8.
Can't wait to go back next year with some proper track tires !!
