Default Chris Harris Drives: Aston V12 Vantage S vs Porsche 911 R

I love Chris' enthusiasm. Interesting that he thought the R felt more powerful than the RS.

I'm still shocked by Harris's FB post where he calls the turbo the "best car Porsche currently makes. (Including the 911R)"

Thanks but.....Already posted in OT:991R thread.

I have learnt on this forum that if you think you are the first to post a video, you are probably not. It's not hard to do a search before posting one.

There is literally only one flaw with the 2017 TTS: anyone can buy one.

And why is this a flaw?

He was making a joke, poking the bear or gentle trolling as it's known.

Yes just kidding for sure. I have an RS and love it but the TTS is just great at everything.

Nice car and good entertainment but end of the day who cares? We're never going to get to drive one because Porsche would rather sell SUV's to brand chasers over a true driver's car to core enthusiasts. Move along.

I get you point and it makes sense if you find a thread with just this video. But in this example I'm glad he's did post it again as I haven't bothered reading the 100s post thread on the R in quite some time.

Enjoyed the video and had me scratching my head at the end wondering if I should be hunting down a clean low miles V12 Vantage as my next weekend warrior.

The Turbo is def the best car if you define "best" in terms of versatility.

The turbo can out accelerate, brake, corner, and speed almost any car, all while having a little back seat, accepting your bags, and allowing you to cruise in comfort across the country in above average reliability without stressing perfect road surfaces.

Similar to the M3...is it one of the "best" cars you can buy.

I love my Turbo S. I always had a Turbo in my collection at any given time. I'm not a big of turbocharged cars that tries to mimic a NA engine (eg. new 991.2, Ferrari 488). I figure, if you go turbo, you might as well let it behave like a proper turbo car with huge surge of torque down low and crazy whooshing sound!

I had a 991 turbo s and got bored of it after 21k miles. Expensive daily driver and not special enough at all to occasionally drive.

Back on topic, the Aston looks and sounds cool but is no way as nimble as the 911R. I just wish the 911R was available to people. I don't like the Ferrari ways of Porsche nowadays.
