My estimated for RS are as stated 4000-4200 units. The production run is 17 months assumes finishes mid Dec. so approx 250 a month if you factor factory holiday close down. 45% of those for US market.

The GT3 was between 3300-3500 over 21/22 months (production was stopped 4 weeks Oct 2013 and 20 weeks 2015. Over 50% production was US bound.

The only hard facts are what MJones and others tracked coming into USA plus what we know has been confirmed for smaller regional markets by members on the ground...

Personally I find any number above 4500 for RS unlikely. There will definitely be more Rs produced than GT3 in Gen 1 but I put the magnitude of delta around 700-1000 units only....
Macca, first I've heard of late builds being MY17. Any idea what production months would fall in that range? Source?

Was at the factory last week and there were GT3 RS everywhere...I've counted more than 20 in the usual courtyard and awaiting to be shipped! Asked if they had a good estimate on how many they've built and been told "around 5000"

WP0ZZZ99ZGS188061 - WP0ZZZ99ZGS191199

I strongly believe all cars will be MY 2016.
Interesting. Thank you.

Yeah, I think that might be a North America thing. Only way to know for sure is if you have been given a VIN? If so is the 10th letter G?

Mid August 2015, I went dealership check if there is a possibility to get gt3rs n been told it's all sold out, as our dealership will only have 5 RS.
April 2016, the time I went spec my coming R and been asked if I would still interested on the RS as the dealership will receive 3 more RS by end of 2016.
August 2016, I went dealership again to place my order for the gen2 gt2rs at 2017, again I saw there are 2 more people are waiting on the RS which which will arrive early 2017.

I'm not in USA and maybe it's not relevant. Our dealership end up with 10 RS instead 5 RS...

Mine was built in April and sitting in the courtyard for over a month until I picked it up. And building 5 a day is not hard to stack 20 into the courtyard.

5,000 means they have been building over 12 a day for over 400 days. Its just not happening at current production capacities at Zuffenhausen.

An "estimate" by some unidentified person at PAG and 20 in the courtyard means 0 to me for numerous reasons. Show me the stats. Not convincing in the slightest.

My estimate. With 200 or so U.S. Dealers and giving an average of let's say 7 total to each that 1400 U.S. U.S. by far is the largest market.

Obviously it wasn't just "someone" at PAG...having said that 5000 feels right seeing how many people seems to get "late allocations" and how much longer the RS production has been extended! They should build as many as they can in my view...at least it'll help putting a stop to the stupid over market!

It's understandable that those that bought RS want production numbers to be low. However.
Porsche produces gt/RS to demand -1
That's their goal.

Not really sure why so many worry about the production numbers. So tell me this. If PAG built 10K of each the gt3 and rs would anyone pass on buying one b/c there's too many built? I would still buy one.

I wish they made 10K

But in order to do so, they need to up production capacity at Zuffenhausen (to even hit 5K for that matter). That is the reality based on published #'s from Porsche. But then again, I am often wrong.
