evo Car of the Year 2016
Any early bets on who will win it this year?
GT4 in 2015.
GT3 in 2013
Will the 911R take it this year? Seems like a car that literally screams "evo Car of the Year"
Are there any other realistic contenders?
Something else that I'm not remembering?

Three Wheelin'
I'm still going with the M2.

Maybe the 570S, but probably M2. Their reviews of the M2 have been glowing, and it's been on their front page for months.

I have a dog in this fight (Focus RS on order), but EVO has been very reluctant to pile the accolades on this car after their arch rivals got in early and gave glowing reviews and in one cars Car of the Year (Top Gear).
I cant really comment as I haven't driven it. I believe it represents great "drivers attributes" for the money. Its manual and has a trick 4WD which gives it a RWD feeling with excellent turn in and sounds a lot of fun on canyon style runs.
All that said, Im without doubt the 911R will take out the crown with the RS & M2 vying very closely for second....

Focus RS does not seem like a complete package. Good thorough review of the mechanicals and performance here: http://www.vorshlag.com/blog/?p=1104 and here http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?p=58372

Having gone through the Focus RS in depth (see the linked threads above), my personal opinion is that if you ever want to take your car to the track, avoid the Focus RS. If you just want to misbehave on public roads, it's probably the car for you.
Ford hyped all the equipment and capabilities of this car to no end. But every piece we look at has huge compromises, or fakes the experience. I predict this will be one of the highest depreciating cars in this decade.

Porsche GTx cars have always done exceptionally well at eCOTY; I'd be stunned if the R didn't win, in particular given the absence of a hardcore McLaren offering this year.
