Well, knowing that opinions are like ********, here's mine... I know my cars, and I actually had to look closely when I first walked in to see where the R were at. Could easily pass off as a regular 911. I went out in an R and an RS back to back. The R felt special because Porsche told me it is. If I didn't know the back story on this car, I would think I was in a 991 with a manual gearbox. The R felt like a bigger, faster gt4. The RS felt like a race car. I believe that if Porsche can convince me that black is a pts color, they can convince me that the R is the holy grail. Well played Porsche.

^ Exactly the way I felt when I saw the first couple of R's in Stuttgart. It's not supposed to be a shouty car but without the hood stripes you'd walk right past it.

I remember all the bitching and moaning by the press when GT3 was launched with PDK, and when the 911RS was rolled out 2 years later not a peep from any motor noter. These guys are responsible for shaping alot of the early views on a car that sometimes take years for folks who actually own these cars and drive them to own up to the truth and correct. Cuts both ways I guess...

For $100,000 more you can have a 991R over a GT4. Oh, sorry - for $250,000 more maybe you can have an R over a GT4.
Porsche are great marketers.

I walked thru the new "Exchange" last week before they opened. Quite an impressive Dealership. Their service area may be on one the sickest I have seen in a Porsche Dealership.

Some like wings and quarter panels/fenders with holes. I get it,I do too...
