My lift is in my storage unit so I can’t bolt it down. I used vibration pads- thick rubber pads used for mounting machine tools. So far in 3 years the lift has been rock solid and hasn’t ever moved. My pads were rated (IIRC) at 500 lbs per square inch.

Does anyone have a single post AC Lift and a 991.2 GT3 (Touring)? Curious if there are any clearance issues with the beam on the floor.

Building a new garage and considering insetting the lift into the floor worst case, but seems rather permanent.

Who makes the best lifts in terms of build quality, stability, and user friendly features?

I have a 2 post asymmetrical lift made by Forward and a 4 post lift made by Revolution (owned by Forward). I use the 2 poster for most work and the 4 poster mostly for storage. I do not have the 4 poster bolted down. In fact I have a caster set that I can use to move it. I can even pull it out of the garage if I want. Before I bought my 4 poster, I asked the shop owner if he had any that I could see first. He said that he owns one himself and invited me to see it at his house. I went to see it. He said he takes it out of his garage once per year and flat beds it to a show. He then just rolls it back it. With all that movement he said he never had an issue. It’s kind of self righting. After initial set up, you just raise and lower it twice and the posts walk to where they need it be (if they weren’t right to begin with) and then stay there. I marked the position of each leg with tape, and it does not move. I agree that you need to watch to make sure that one lock doesn’t hang up. I adjusted all my locks when I got it to make sure they all engage/disengage at the same time. Mine are easily adjustable. Wheel chocks, drip trays, and anti-roll-off blocking plates were included with the lift.

I don't have it yet but will soon. If you get their 4500 pound rated lift, you can elect to get a low profile base plate which is what I did. They still didn't think I'd need it for my car with FAL, but I liked the idea of a lower profile plate being more out of the way especially since I have swiss trax flooring and will remove the pieces where the plate will be. 964 going up top so I didn't need the 6000 pound rating.

No problem..On a new garage build it would be a great idea to inset the base of lift below grade, but not necessary. I've previously owned 2 and 4-post lifts and think the AC single post drive on lift is the cat's meow...may be installing one in the new display garage being built now: https://rennlist.com/forums/off-topi...ay-garage.html T

Default New Blue Bunk Mates

Yes it is possible to fit a lift in a garage with only a 10' ceiling height, barely.

You can also do it in a 9' ceiling basement garage with the right cars and a desperate situation! (upstairs garage had a leak and had to get the Cobra off the 4 post lift and out of the way)

HYDRAULIC FLUID CHOICES - Anyone here with a sensitive nose?
Is there a hydraulic fluid that will not smell at all? My lifts are going into a garage here there will be people constantly, so I would like to find a fluid that has a pleasant smell, or no smell. I've been told use something like Dexron 3 ATF fluid. Any comments on a good solution to my Autostacker lifts? BTW my lifts are here. http://bit.ly/2NxLgt3
