Default Axle lift install or aftermarket?

I've already missed 2 gt3's by being a day late on the phone, however I recently found one I like but it doesn't have the "475" front axle lift system option. My question is would this be something I could have the dealer install or would be it wise to go the aftermarket route, I know kW made an adjustable suspension via the iPhone for 997 but unsure with the 991.
With my driveway and roads in the Boston area I think the axle lift is a must.

Thank you,

Sean

When I looked into this for my 997 a few years ago the aftermarket version from TechArt or KW required replacing the struts and thus losing Porsche's PASM.

You can buy a whole bunch of front lips for how much it would cost you to put it on. If you can get the car with it, great, but if not, don't sweat it and just angle up inclines.

I have it and wouldn't have bought the GT3 without it, if you have a garage that requires it you're gonna hate not having it every single time.

I think for those that say just buy a bunch of front lips and replace as you go are perhaps a bit too glib.

There are instances where driving across a speed bump or dip would rip apart the front lip and loosen a good part of the front fender as well.

It's a tough decision to make, but if your only issue is getting up and down your own personal driveway, I think you'll be ok without the lift as you can just buy replacement lips and get one of these ramp things.

OP

The axle lift is in fact avail from Porsche as a kit your dealer can install. however, as with most anything factory done after the initial build it is $$$$$. It involves a LOT of work, coding the new ecu involved, and a lot of parts. Total for parts, at retail is 13k, labor just about 1500-2000 depending on your dealer's effective warranty labor rate. PM me and I can give you all the details you need if you want to get it done.
