XPEL/Suntek on 991 GT3/GT3RS Front Bumper Question
Hey guys, there are a ton of posts on Xpel/Suntek but this is specific to the 991 GT3 front bumper and full front, I couldn't find a thread about it (without getting on which company is better).
I know it's hard to show in photos but how was yours installed?
1) Are there seams or stretch marks on the bumper?
2) Which edges are wrapped and which aren't on the Full Front Installation?
3) Any white dots under the film?
Many thanks!
Edit: I gave Xpel (David Campbell for Xpel) and the installer (Detail Authority in Fairfax Virginia) the benefit of the doubt, that's why I didn't post these pictures earlier, but they both said "it's normal".
Taking pictures of a black car is always challenging so bear with me!
Film gap
Mirror flaws (look like when you leave a fingerprint in paint that hasn't fully cured yet)
Lift line (consider the area pulled has major orange peel, looks totally stretched
Edge
After going for a ride I saw a couple bugs on the hood and tried to clean them off using the Xpel cleaner they provided me and the film turned sticky and created a nasty haze
I'm going to start another thread with my experience with Xpel, even thought there are tons of thread there is still information missing out there.

1) Are there seams or stretch marks on the bumper? No, not with my install. There are no seams that I can see.
2) Which edges are wrapped and which aren't on the Full Front Installation? The only wrapped edges I did were my hood. That said, I'll have to take a closer look at my front quarter panels. I cannot see the edge so I am guessing they are wrapped as well.
3) Any white dots under the film? No, none!

I have used both Suntek and Xpel. I went with Suntek on my 991 GT3 and Xpel on my 997 TT. Suntek is thinner and has better optical clarity. I do not plan to track the GT3 so the Suntek was a better option. The Xpel I had did show some orange peel and you could see it. Not so with Suntek. Now to answer your questions.

I thought I'd get a little more feedback considering that almost everyone here has the film on their cars.

op, your installer is an amateur. i have all the film brands on all sorts of GT3's. never had any issues you mentioned.

Mooty, I'm biting my tongue. The installer power washed the full front for the installation and left water spots from soap all over the doors and roof. He only rinsed the front. I'm not gonna post any photos for now but I have the impression that they'll be here by the end of today.

The bumper install was all one piece, so no seams from merging multiple pieces. Because of the complex shape, there are some openings in the film in some of the deep scoop holes in the front of the bumper but you can't notice them without crawling on the floor.

I have a precut install with some wrapped edges, not all. It wasn't important to me to wrap every edge and the price went up considerably. The bumper was not removed, the lights were. You can see a relief slit at each corner vent, and a joint at each of the vertical elements adjacent to the center intake.
