Just doing some research into a possible trailer purchase in the coming months and I stumbled upon the Futura Tandem axle trailer. What i like about it is the easy on/off loading.
Has anyone here used this trailer for their GT3 or RS? Opinions please.
No experience but I was also considering this as the design is innovative. I like the easy on/off but think of this as a lift on wheels. Like any "lift" my car is on I would want to know if the up position has a strong positive lock. Since the axles and bed aren't bolted in a fixed relationship to each other, a failure can happen in the lift system that would cause the bed to hit the ground/road at speed. Do they have a good design to eliminate that potential? In the video there are small red levers near each wheel that look like they might be locking mechanisms. I would want to know if they would hold up to rough road and many miles of pot holes.
On a serious note, across the family, we own ATC, maxey, Jimglo and soon intech. They all have their pluses and minuses, but I'd say stay away from the maxey drop and loads.
Thank you all for your input. Super helpful. I'm a total novice at this entire trailer malarkey and therefore the easy on/off was a huge attraction. Appreciate the engineering concerns as well as reccomendations guys. More food for thought.
i owned many trailers (not the one OP mentioned however) and seen many trailers. all have great idea. but the "trickier" the aparatus the more issues you will have. as far as open traiilers go, featherlight of trailex. KISS is the most important.

+1 Simple is best. I got my 2011 feaherlite used, it needed tires, so I got tires and had the bearings packed and brakes adjusted. I Towed over 10,000 miles the last 2 years, brought it in last week, inspection, bearings, adjust brakes. That's all it needed. No issues.
