Strip paint on RS wing
I would like to strip the paint on my GT silver RS wing and clear coat it to have nude carbon look.
Anyone has done something similar on carbon fiber body panel, any tips/pitfalls?
Thanks for your help!!

Are you sure the wing has a nice carbon weave under there paint? Really depend how the last layer of carbon was laid.

Do a carbon fiber wrap instead.

Pretty sure you won't find a woven carbon pattern underneath.
The whole move towards painted carbon is such that the carbon weaves won't have to be laid in a visually pleasing pattern, and there doesn't need to be a transparent layer of acrylic binder in between layers.
PAG marketed that as a weight-reduction move in the 997 4.0. Guys who *actually manufacture* these wings told me that it's actually a cost-saving move and one which reduces QC failures dramatically.
So no, please don't strip your beautiful paint...

i so agree with you on this
for some odd reason i think its ok for a guy to wear a fake Rolex if he can easily afford the real thing and just doesn't feel like blowing more unnecessary cash on a 10th watch
*** opposed to
a guy who can not afford the real watch and wants to pretend to be wealthy and gets the same fake one
for some reason the latter bothers me but the other doesn't
FYI: none of my watches are fakes

Raclaims saw my replica white gold/blue sub - let's just say I know where to get really high quality replicas. They'll still cost $400-500. Now that I read this, I wonder why I bother buying the real deals - it's not like I'm ever going to sell them.

I actually buy a replica of the real ones I own and wear the replica so I won't damage my real one. I'm an **** dentist, though - which is why I never should have bought a black car.

To move away from the thought of **** dentistry https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif
I don't think I will put fake carbon wrap on a carbon part... Just the thought of fake makes me crazy so... GT silver it will remain unless someone who has stripped and repainted his car might be able to tell me how it looks without plain
