Spoke to the guys at MA Carbon a few years ago about stripping the CF painted wing blade on my 997 GT2 and refinishing in clear (a service they offer). It was hit or miss as to whether or not there would be a nice weave underneath without flaws. Unfortunately, the slightest imperfections CF stand out like a sore thumb. As others have said, I suspect not much car was given to weave aesthetics on a part that was designed to be painted - and that is a much larger piece than my blade. But who knows. If you are willing to take the risk of repainting it, you can always strip it and take a look (MA Carbon offered that option to me). If it were me, I'd wrap it first and see if I could live with it. If not, go to plan b.
