Would typical car wash damage GT3 RS wing
I searched for information but couldn't find any references. Considering getting a GT3 RS within the next couple weeks.
I am a lazy *** and know myself well enough to know I won't hand wash it except perhaps on very rare occasions. I lowered my 2012 Turbo S with coil over springs. Now I am typically driving one of the dirtiest Turbos you'll ever see.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

One of the greatest joys of 911 ownership is caressing and washing the gorgeous flanks of this amazing beast. Could not imagine taking it to a car wash and miss out on that erotic sensation!

To the OP, you may find that owning an RS somehow awakes the desire to clean it. Not saying it will happen, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I can guarantee it won't. I will enjoy driving the hell out of it both as a part time daily driver and at a track I belong to, but I won't expend much energy on anything that isn't functional.

I almost never wash my own car.
Every major metropolitan area has at least one car wash/ detail guy that will come to your house or office and do it all by hand. Instead of the 20 bucks for the touchless watch this guy will be 40-150 bucks depending on how baller you want to go.
Usually they prefer to wash more than one car per location so just have a couple people get together for it.
There are 3 guys in my neighborhood alone that do it.

I haven't washed a car in 10 years. I find it as pleasurable as going to the dentist. I agree with having someone else hand wash it.
My dealer does mine as I stop by often to shoot the ****. I tip the porters $100 so they do a great job.

Touch less wash works fine but is hard on most waxes. I had C Quarts put on mine and sometimes wash at home but often just run it through the touch less.
A lot of people assume I spend a lot of time but spend very little. At home I have rigged up fast hook up for my pressure washer and then just suds it with a gun and spray it off. Dry with a air blower and touch up with a microfiber and maybe some detail spray.. Take maybe 15 to 20 minutes.

If you can afford a RS, you can afford a detail guy to come to your place insert a week.
I personally enjoy cleaning my own cars. Love buying new car cleaning products

I wash and detail my own cars. No commercial car washes ever. I can afford to have someone detail my car professionally but I am very picky and besides, why pay someone to do something for me that I enjoy doing myself?
To the OP, there's no way a touchless car wash (the only kind to consider with the RS wing) can properly clean all of the dirt and contaminants off of your paint finish. Do a Google search on "are touchless car washes good?" and see what you find.
If you're not going to do it yourself, then pay a good detailer what it takes to care for your $200K investment.

Short answer is : definitely yes
I personally never tried ( the automated wash closer to my house actually refused to accept my RS on the account of the rear spoiler) but a buddy of mine tried to wash his UV in another wash and the result was a cool 500 USD damage ....

Something I enjoy is spending time washing and detailing my cars. I find it very relaxing and a great stress relief. Hopefully Matt (Money) doesn't read this thread. lol
