Default New gt3 owner.. Couple questions.

Hello guys, I recently acquired a 2015 Sapphire blue gt3 LWB car.

After my recent ugly experience with another car, I'm happy to say, I met an awesome guy locally and we made a deal a few weeks ago.

Ive been enjoying it quite a lot.
However..
This is my first experience with the PDK trans.

In this scenario: PDK sport, tcs and esc off, exhaust open.
It has quite a lot of "slippage" when accelerating hard from a stop.

I'm reffering to a full throttle stab, whether using the paddle neutral function, or simply flooring it. It just seems to slip a lot.

My question is: Is this normal?
It doesn't feel right to me. I want a more positive engagement.
Thanks,
Nate in utah

Use launch control. What do you think is slipping? The clutches? Or wheel spin?

Todd,
Def. not wheelspin. Its the clutches for sure. Sport cup2 in 95 degree weather.
The tires are hooked.

car has 2400 miles. Ive never driven another PDk car let alone a GT3.
Hopefully its not supposed to be this way.

Even launch control has some slippage, not as much, but it does ssssslip.
I imagine launch control should have some slip.

If you floor the car from a standstill, the rpm will jump to 4-5k before the car moves.

If you slowly/normally accelerate from a standstill, the clutch will slip a bit just like in a MT car (I don't know if slip is the right word though) before engaging. This is not an auto transmission.

These are the only i notice my clutch "slip".

This is the design of PDK-S. It was made to replicate a manual tranny. It disengages at a stop. If on a hill, it rolls backwards. Nothing is wrong. Normal PDK cars do not act like this.

Do a full throttle shift in to second or third in a deserted area. It should be a solid kick in the back side. Slippage from stop or slow take off is normal. Mine typically starts to ingage agave 1K rpm. Below that and it's like the clutch is fully depressed.

Yep.
Solid as can be. Actually pretty amazing, the 1-2 shift. Gets a tiny bit sideways

Now that I think about it, If the clutch engaged more fully, I would be laying rubber everywhere I go when pulling out from a stop. Plus.. the way its set up, you can actually manage the slip depending on how fast you push the gas, as well as how far you push the pedal... and different combinations of the two.. I guess you would call it modulating, getting some "clutch feel" without a clutch pedal... Am I making sense?

I'm starting to understand..
thanks all.
