Default Replace Carbon Fiber Interior Package with Aluminum

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the carbon fiber interior package with standard brushed aluminum trim? Better yet, has anyone actually done it?

Thanks!

Yes, except if you have the door panel blades. Those do not remove. All the rest of the trim is replaceable.

Are the door panel blades included in the "EGA Carbon Fiber Interior Package?"

Ummm. They're included with extended leather package. The dash and upper doors covered in leather.

This car does have the Leather Interior package, so I guess, by default, it has the door panel blades to which you refer. What makes them not removable? Are the glued on? Would the entire door panel need to be replaced?

Yes, molded into the door panel. The whole panel would need replacement. $$$$. Unless you do some sort of vinyl "aluminum look" covering by those guys that do the wraps, etc.

Long shot but you might find someone with aluminum that wants carbon you could trade with. they would need to have full leather and same color stitching.

bingo. at least it's not as long of a shot as trying to trade the other way. I have to believe there's someone out there that wanted the CF but ended up not getting it, either because they didn't order the car or they didn't want to pay for it. or someone looking for a change of pace.

I have a set of the dash trim in dark aluminum sitting in my garage. They were removed when when the CF went in.

Is it reasonably easy to remove these trim bits without damaging them?

The tougher one is the glove box. Haven't done it. Maybe have the dealer do it, but a lot of DIY guys must have posted info on all these pieces.

I'd suggest wrapping it. I did the interior of my E60 M5 in a brushed steel several years back and it came out great.
