As the TWS HPDE was cancelled, I was a late switcher to the BMW event at COTA. My first time there. It was hot as *****. Car says the air temp was over 100, and I am fairly sure that it was warmer than that.

Water and oil temps were higher than at other events I have been too, obviously, but all in all, it ran like a champ. There was a tuned GTR which, in a nutshell, gave its driver the blue screen of death coming out of T12. I think that was the 3rd session on Saturday. Driver later told me the car just shut down, and he had to be towed back to the paddock.

I had no telemetry, so no lap time info. Even if I had, it would have been nothing to brag about.

Do you remember what your oil and water temps were?

Hottest I remember the water getting to was in the low to mid 220's. That may have partly been a function of sitting at grid for an eternity one run.

The oil....I want to say around low 200's.

Data will be nice to have.

A couple of weeks ago I saw an oil temp of 257F on an 80F day at Mid-Ohio in my GT4. Car didn't seem to care.

In my 15 GT3 the highest oil temp I observed was 235F on a 90F day also at Mid-Ohio.

In 12000 miles the only issue I had was a water thermostat.
