I have never heard that in order for the warranty to stay valid, an authorized dealer must do the service. You can do it in your own, at an Indy, or at the dealer. Up to you. Of course, maintain proof of maintenance.

Are you specifically referring to on track vs non track? There was some discussion a few months back re track warranty was in question in the 15/16 MY's, regardless who did the service. Aside from that, I would say regular road going should not be jeopardized if you do your own.

As far as I know, in the US, the dealer/manufacturer cannot deny a warranty claim because maintenance was done by the owner or an independent repair shop instead of by the dealer. That said, I do have some things done by the dealer like tire balancing, alignment, etc. And I'll probably bring the GT3 in for the 12,000 mile service minus the spark plugs.

Very helpful write-up. Changed plugs today on my 2015. Torx fittings were T30 not T27, not sure if '14 differs from '15. Was able to fit small torque wrench; torqued plugs to 17 ft. lb.

I love the idea of saving money on the plugs. Do you think the Bosch ones are pre-gapped like the Porsche ones also? Do we know the gap spec?

EDIT - found the Bosch data and theirs are gapped to 1.0mm. I assume same as Porsche ones...

Also, I see that the Part Number for the 2018 GT3 is one higher 99917015391 - wonder if Bosch has a new cross reference? The Bosch data mentions both numbers at the bottom of the data sheet under "Comparisons"...

Suncoast sells the .2 GT3 version for $147 vs. $138 for the .1 GT3 versions

How the hell do you get that Bilstein sensor off so I can pop the heatshield off on the left side of the car.

Now, if only someone can post a DIY on changing the center bolts, hub and rear bearings for the 6K "circuit driving" maintenance, I'd be set!

LOL the right side was super easy...but that F'ing Bilstein plug for the PASM does not want to move...I'm not sure what the trick is on it.

Thanks bud. All done, did a 5 mile circuit and no warning lights so I'm going with I didn't screw it up

Just curious if anyone knows the changing interval for the coils. Is it advisable to do every time you do plugs or maybe every second or third plug change? Thanks!
