That final pit stop was Porsche acknowledging defeat, conceding, waiving the white flag so to speak. It was a gentlemanly gesture to widen the gap from 30 or so seconds to over a minute so Toyota had time to form up for a fun #5 & #6 team photo finish. It was true class.
I was in the stands across from their pit yelling and wishing they'd push the Toyota every last second in hopes that the Toyota would break or go off or anything. Yeah, I fight to the death. It ain't over until it is over...

Cause the tires that were on it were already on their 4th stint. So basically they were gone anyway.
Adding a dash of fuel means Jani can drive all out to try and catch the #5 car and no need to worry about using too much fuel. The Toyota's tires were on their 3rd stint so in theory the Porsche could have the advantage there in trying to chase down the Toyota.

View from our seats (yes, nice view of Porsche's LMP1 pits/garages...), victory for the #2! (this is actually a still from a video I took of the Toyota parked in front of its pits, restarting, and then the #2 crossing the line for the win. You hear the announcer over the PA in the background repeating, "Incroyable! Incroyable!" I'll post the video at some point (still traveling in Europe right now).
