Prolly Embarrassing RS Question ... (and other nonsense)

Three Wheelin'
I think it's the front axle lift. My system makes puffing sounds sometimes even when it's lowered. "Puffing" is exactly the right description. Just put the front end up and down a couple of times. If it makes the same sound, you've found the it.

You may be correct, I just can't think of anything else it would be! it looks pretty similar to the tool we include with our center lock alignment tool kits:

I agree. I have the lift on my RS and noticed the sound only with the windows down. My GT3 didn't have the lift and no sound.

A little OCDitis ... had the rennline tow hook eye painted LO:
Emboldened by last night's success in swapping my side markers without needing a new paint job, I wonder if I can remove the little bumper plug all on my own like a big boy ... any tricks on getting that thing to pop out without scratching it and the surrounding paint?
Thanks

just press in hard with you thumb at the BOTTOM section of the plug - it will pop out.
gets easier after a couple of goes.

So every other 16 RS I see has Michelin PSC2 tires, but mine has the Dunlop SMR.
Does this mean that the tires were changed by the previous owner or did some cars come with Dunlops from the factory?
Thanks

Sorry for reviving this old thread but I have another question ...
I have CC brakes both on the TTS and the RS, but I was wondering if the discs or pads were different specs between the two? The reason I ask is that the CCs were biting from day one on the TTS, but I almost blew through a red light today with the RS cause it felt that they had no bite at all. Is there something specific to the RS setup that requires them to be up to temp to bite hard, or does it mean that I should get them checked? The RS had 1600 road miles on it when I bought it so I can't imagine the pads are gone, it just really surprised me that the brakes had no bite.
Not sure if that made sense, but I'm about to take the RS on track and I need to know if the brakes will develop bite a couple of laps in or if there's something off with them ... the last thing I want is getting to the end of a straight at 160mph and not knowing if my brakes will be there for me.
Thanks.
