Current news on 991.2 GT3

+1 - don't really get the point of it if it is just a 991.1 with a 4.0L. IMO, leave the 3.8l in at 9k redline and strip as much weight as possible and you have a much more interesting car. I think a 991.2 3.8L GT3 with a mag roof and CF hood as an option would be different enough that I would buy one vs skip it.

All still speculation as far as i know.
Yes, dealers are taking deposits on yet to be announced future cars - Ive had deposits down for a 991.2 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS for ~2 yrs. i also already put down deposits for the 992.1 GT3, 992.1 GT3 RS and 960, too. Who knows if any of those will exist, but i can only hope.

For those of us hoping for a 6spd manual in the next GT3, the extra displacement will bring some additional torque that will be very helpful in covering the wider spacing among the gears.

Yes, less scream and yell with RS, but much better acceleration. In GT3 you almost fall asleep on long straights or in not so curvy curves. One good example is Parabolica on Hockenheimring, another one is Kemmel in Spa.
Maybe my senses are fooling me, but RS feels much better accelerating from 100 to 200+ km/h than GT3, despite the bigger aero.

Can one Imagine how many people that had Deposit's on 991Rs and had the deposits refunded or applied to one's next Porsche. The New Preferred list really screwed up a lot of people's dreams of owning an 911R.. Thank's Porsche.

I think we should change this thread to start discussing Aliens coming and invading this planet. What do you think they will look like? How big will they be? What year will they invade? Will they have knives? Guns? Lasers? What propulsion mechanisms will their crafts have?
mother ship dropped me here at woodstock and i have been sending intel back. you are dooooomed
meh, drive what you have today.
let the rest of the newbie RL'ster worry about what is to be....
b/c you know what.... we may all be gone since the aliens will be here by then.

+1. Enjoy what you have. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to own a 991 RS and consider myself lucky to be among the very few on planet earth to own one. pAG will forever be improving and tweaking.
But I'll be pissed if PAG extends production to provide for allocation to some damn Martians.

The 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS being offered with a manual gear box will probably make the current GT3s less desirable in the long run, and hopefully those who bought the cars only for pure speculations might consider getting rid of the cars for what they really worth... and those who wanted to buy one to enjoy it and and drive it might have the opportunity to do so.
