According the blog, all GT3RS orders until oct. 2015 will be produced by the end of Nov. 2016.
Near future will tell us ...
One thing is sure, the Mission E concept has been given the go-ahead for production, which means work security in the Zuffenhausen factory. In return the unions had to swallow a high flexibility regime on the production line (we see this trend more and more in Europe).
With the financial concequences of the diesel-scandal still unfolding, it could at least be a possible scenario that the new VW CEO Mr. Matthias Müller (ex-Porsche CEO) wants to collect fresh cash by cranking up the output of profitable products e.g. the GT3RS (profit min. EUR 30k per produced unit)

I think are members with November deliveries. So with that and the supposed fact that factories are closed in August..I'm guessing its at least September/October.

Surely production stops in July, before the summer holidays

Maybe they were referring to the new LEGO GT3RS kit.

Hi,
I need some guidance because I don't know what to do ... I currently own a 15 TTS and I have an opportunity to purchase a highly optioned Lava 16 RS ($215ish msrp) with less than 2k miles that I can get for around $245k. I also spoke to my dealership and they tell me that with the additional RS builds they will do everything they can to get me one at msrp, but that realistically my chances of them managing to get one for me are at about 15%. (small dealership in a small city)
If I didn't own the TTS I would jump on the used one. But with the prospect of values slightly dropping with the additional builds and by result me perhaps overpaying for this used one, and a small chance to get a new one at msrp, I'm really torn and wonder if I'm just better off rolling the dice on the chance to get a new one and the worst that can happen is that I lose the gamble and keep driving my lowly TTS.
Or do you guys think that at $245ish on a $215k RS, even if they build a few more the values are going to hold relatively steady?
For what it is worth I'm not buying this car to make money ... I'm going to drive it and I'm going to occasionally track it. I'm first in line at my dealership for the still hypothetical upcoming GT2 RS, so I would own the GT3 RS for a year or so, put 2/3k miles on it and sell it a year down the line with 5xxx miles on it.
Hope all that made sense ... I appreciate any feedback/input.

It depends how much they are giving you on your TTS. You already took a hit on that, and your going to take another hit on the RS for sure.
$30k is a good deal for what's around though!

I was in Stuttgart early this year in a meeting invited by some Porsche AG people .
One of them is a developer on these GT cars and he told me that due to big demand they decided to produce more than double .
He was talking about GT4 and GT3RS .
That time it sounded weird to me what he said but now i understand its true. Porsche decided to make some more money.
Guys i am afraid this is true. Even if i dont like it .
