6,000 is about 20% of all 911s produced in 12 months - has anyone really been seeing 1 in 5 911s at dealers RSs? I know I haven't.

So that would mean about 2000 cars in North America, just don't see it. My local dealer got 7, three to 918 buyers.

6k definitely sounds high; is this "64" blog a reliable source for this type of information?

I know that there were 6,000 buyers and only 1,800-2,000 units will be made. I think someone got confused with the numbers...

I think this is where this information came from. I still don't know how reliable it is though. I don't see how they could make that many RS's in 18 months. 6000 cars would be around 16 per day. When I was at the factor two weeks ago I saw around 8 RS's on the line and I may have missed a couple. I think the number is closer to 10 per day. There are around 3 per day being built for North America right now with the total around 1050 built to date.

I do believe Porsche is interested in making as much money as possible so I'm sure they are making more than their first production estimates from two years ago.

My dealer has been led to believe that production goes through November and if that were true when would the last configurable allocations need to be put on the books ?

If 1,050 built to date and ~35-40% of production generally goes to US, that would imply ~3,000 built to date. If production ends in November, they would have to build another 25 RS per working day through the end of Nov. (assuming half of August is factory shut down.)

You have one "story" with no source that is getting quoted by another blogger as a source. 6,000 isn't going to happen.

My dealer is telling me production ends in August.
Not sure how valid that statement is however.
What I know is that I am getting mine tomorrow!
And I really don't care how many there is out there!
