These posts about people getting these misfires really pisses me off. For the life of me I can't get mine to throw a code.

Oh no! Reminds me of last year when we were all out there and mine suffered the same. Not fun watching everyone else have fun, and just waiting for transport back to CA.:/
Try short shifting to see if CEL doesn't trigger. This would be a good indicator of the known motor design flaw issue.
I need to put more track miles on my replacement motor before warranty expires. :/

A mechanic at Moorespeed in Austin who supports a number GT cars hooked up pwis and found thst exhaust cam timing was off by 7 degrees at 3000RPM, which is massive.... says that commonly the camshaft actuator cover bolts loosen and allow pressurized oil to escape. For all 991. This results on a loss in pressure used to advance cam timing. Fixable, possibly, and will supply his analysis to Austin Porsche dealer mechanics. Maybe not a roached top end, maybe so. Would like a set of the latest DLC cams for my troubles!
Moorespeed is a great shop, a real jewel. They run a 2017 cup car and were on the podium at Sebring for usa Carrera cup.
In the meantime car towed to Austin Porsche who has a very good service department, so I hear..

So, it took 2-3 months for them to rebuild it?
