Oh no.

Is this the first posting of this happening in a '16?

These posts about people getting these misfires really pisses me off. For the life of me I can't get mine to throw a code.

You're driving too slowly.

Seriously, congratulations. COTA isn't cheap, so hopefully they reimburse the cost. What was your secret?

I am seriously considering paying Levd to flog my car. He seems to have the touch.

Try short shifting to see if CEL doesn't trigger. This would be a good indicator of the known motor design flaw issue.

I need to put more track miles on my replacement motor before warranty expires. :/
Tried short shifting, helped at first, maybe, but misfire kept happening at even low revs..

A mechanic at Moorespeed in Austin who supports a number GT cars hooked up pwis and found thst exhaust cam timing was off by 7 degrees at 3000RPM, which is massive.... says that commonly the camshaft actuator cover bolts loosen and allow pressurized oil to escape. For all 991. This results on a loss in pressure used to advance cam timing. Fixable, possibly, and will supply his analysis to Austin Porsche dealer mechanics. Maybe not a roached top end, maybe so. Would like a set of the latest DLC cams for my troubles!

Moorespeed is a great shop, a real jewel. They run a 2017 cup car and were on the podium at Sebring for usa Carrera cup.

In the meantime car towed to Austin Porsche who has a very good service department, so I hear..

All I need is 2-3 trackdays in your car to make it happen

No break in needed for top end rebuild.

So, it took 2-3 months for them to rebuild it?
