Default Just put a deposit on a '14 mexico blue gt3...

Hi guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself and humbly ask for some opinions on the car I just put a deposit on.
Ive been a Porsche fan ever since i was a little boy. Im a small business owner, and have worked very hard to buy a car like this. I am extremely excited to be a part of the enthusiast community here, Ive already learned alot.

Ive been in the market for a 991 gt3 for the past month, and ive been watching the classifieds here very closely. There were a couple cars I had some interest in, but I really wanted a bright color, Viper green, mexico blue, voodoo... ETC. But the car I really wanted was on ebay. His ask was considerably higher than my limit, but I kept longing for the color and build combination.

I made an offer on his car after my wife said "your spending 150k on a color you dont really want? Why not spend an extra 20k and get the car you want.

Wow. words of wisdom!
so we came to an agreement on price and I sent him a deposit.
Heres the build:
leather/alcantara
PTS mexico blue
extended fuel tank
seat heaters front axle lift

PCCB
sound package
luggage net
smoking package
LEDs with PDLS
bluetooth
light design
sport chrono
18 way adaptive seats
sirius/xm
key painted mexico blue
dimming mirrors/rain sensor
brushed aluminum interior package
yellow seat belts
door sill guards stainless/backlit
aluminum look fuel cap.
msrp 165,600

Please feel free to share your thought on what I should have paid,
But more importantly, Im concerned about the whole 2014 engine issues. the car was built on 6/14. the engine was replaced on 6/30/14 at the factory with 6 miles. with another "E" engine.

Any advice or thoughts on affected resale value will be appreciated. I dont plan on tracking the car, just a weekend/daily. I will probabaly keep it for a few years at most.
Plan on picking her up 6/10!!
Cant wait.

Thanks!
Nate

Congrats on your GT3. I tried for PTS Mexico Blue but was turned down at the time of my order. Enjoy your great car.

Nate--Congrats! The other day I saw a license plate you may wish to consider: "GRT WIFE." Enjoy!

Congrats on buying the best car ever. You are going to love it! As long as you can afford it don't sweat the cost.

Well optioned, btw. Very nice!

Interesting position. With the known "E" motor shortcomings, I am not sure I would be willing to jump into a 2014 GT3.

Yes, I think that was one that I had, the one in my avatar. It was part of the 1st recall but the engine was installed at the factory before shipping. How many miles on it now?

Congratulations on your new GT3.

I also have a 2014 Guards Red GT3 so mine had the engine replaced by Porsche with the same engine that started going in 2015 models. With the extra year warranty awarded 2014 owners, I do not see a meaningful distinction between it and a 2015. Not all will feel this way, but personally I think it's irrational to have 2014 prejudice or I would not have bought mine.

2014 models had the E engine, as designated in the VIN number. 2015 has a G and 2016 has a F.

As to resale value, it's impossible to predict the future. However GT3's have historically held their value very well, especially paint to sample cars like your Mexico Blue. So while you paid more upfront I suspect you will get most of it returned to you if you trade or sell down the road.

Default UPDATE

well,
I regret to share this..

I sure wish I would have waited a few hours to post this message.
As of an hour ago, the seller pulled the car from me.
He stated:

"
New message from: lushtoys (83Blue Star)

Hi,

Unfortunately I have to cancel the sale of the car. This was my wife's car and she has changed her mind and has decided to keep it. Really sorry.

I have refunded the $1000 through paypal.

There is a local black 2015 with 2200 miles and GMG exhaust, lightweight bucket seats for 165K if you have any interest I can have the seller contact you.

Thanks and I apologize for any inconvenience.

- Stefan "

So... Needless to say I'm really upset.
Ive arranged a lot of things to make this happen.

What a bummer.

I don't even know what to say.. I'm just...

Anyways. Looks like I'm back in the market.
Hopefully this is not someone here on rennlist. I have a feeling he sold the car elsewhere since it was advertised/consigned at DDW in Arizona for considerably more $$, but that's just my thoughts, nothing to prove it.

If you guys know of any gumball cars, LMK. Back to the classifieds

Nate
