Exclusive Option LWB Seat Bolster Protectors
Hello Fellow Rennlisters,
I received and installed a set of Exclusive Option LWB Bolster Protectors.
Here is a quick review:
Yes, they are spendy, but compared to the cost of fixing or replacing Lwb seats, they are acceptable price wise (to me at least, after initial shock..hehe), and ahem, we are all driving fairly spendy high quality cars, right? For the price, basically what you get is a OEM look, fit, and finish that is exceptionally high quality. The leather and stitching are as close to identical to OEM as you can get, batch to batch. Basically, if you did not know that they were aftermarket, you would think that they were OEM Porsche.
Installation was straightforward and excellent directions were provided. Watching the DVD before hand helped and the music was fairly pleasant. No rap or heavy metal garbage. Thanks Frank.
Frank also supplies a cleaner/conditioner which I used on the leather before install and after.
Again, install is easy, take your time and fit the protectors in the sequence suggested by Frank. Don't be afraid to use a little muscle to adjust, align or smooth. I partially removed the bolster protectors front to back a few times for best fit. I also removed the seat back cushions which are velcroed on just for better visability during install.
Finally, watch out for passenger seat cushion with captive pin that snaps into receptacle piece in seat. Don't pull or yank too hard. The pin could detach from the captive mount in the cushion which would be a bad thing. I attached a picture of this, the pin is hard to see in the picture, but it is there.
Also there is a bit of extra Alcantara material where the hole is that slips over the seat adjustment rocker switch. You may want to trim that off.
In closing, I am happy with the bolster protectors and Frank was professional and pleasant to deal with.

I heard about Exclusive from my brother in law. He went to college with the owner. I ended up ordering the lwb bolster protectors with red stitching after seeing the quality of their work. They arrived with instruction and a CD. Installation was pretty simple but my drivers side took a little bit of extra time to get perfect. Here are some pics. Fit and finish is like OEM. Hats off to Exclusive.

Lol. The prices people pay to "protect" their cars is so funny. You expect it in the Ferrari circle but to see it in the Porsche circle now is kind of sad. I always viewed these cars as the cars people drove. At this rate, Porsche will soon (if it hasn't already) get the 10k miles stigma, followed by garage queen only status.
