2016 see a lot of announcements
GT2/3 before RS (to make happy 997 syllogism fans)
RS before RSR (needed for RSR homologation purpose)
GTS before GT2/3 (already leaked the specs)
actually the only Porsche confirmed date is RSR ready for January championship
a lot of traffic in 2016 maybe too much

tank is a harsh word. the non RS 997 GT3's haven't exactly skyrocketed. my guess is there will be an adjustment, but not a long-term depreciation trend all of a sudden. today there are a lot more people that want GT3's (and RS's) than there are cars available. I don't think the next production wave will change that

And not because of C&C crowd with cupholders blah blah blah...a lot of people (like yours truly) prefer it. I owned 997 RS 3.8 & PDK-S 991 GT3 at same time so didn't have to "rationalize" my decision...had both, chose PDK. YMMV

I think one thing that will keep the 991.1 GT3 unique is the 9K redline.
Oh, and the exploding engines! Which come as a no-charge option.

One final thought: Even though it seems that Porsche stretched the limits of the redline for a flat 6 street car suppose to make it past 100,000 miles (fingers crossed this engine doesn't continue to explode)........the fact is, it may be the last 9,000 rpm redline one they make. Then, it has something that no other GT car has.....and that will keep interest in the future. But all of that is just my opinion......which happens to be on the other end of the spectrum of yours.
