Don't be so positive. "Tank" is an obscure word. Give me one GT car that has "tanked"? I would even guess total track miles for the 991 GT3 cars is more than prior runs of GT3s. I know in the last 2 years, it tends to be a popular Porsche car to see on the track. The track warranty helps encourage it's drivers to take it to the track as well. Prior gens didn't have that. The "no over-rev" fear will keep future buyers not so concerned about track miles either. Can't say the RS's numbers are hitting the tracks in the same fashion....likely due to price point. Your love of the manual gearbox doesn't always translate to other interested enthusiasts. There will always be the desire for a Porsche GT car IMO. Those that have multiple cars often have several manuals in their collection. One final thought: Even though it seems that Porsche stretched the limits of the redline for a flat 6 street car suppose to make it past 100,000 miles (fingers crossed this engine doesn't continue to explode)........the fact is, it may be the last 9,000 rpm redline one they make. Then, it has something that no other GT car has.....and that will keep interest in the future. But all of that is just my opinion......which happens to be on the other end of the spectrum of yours.

LOL!
You folks certainly don't read all the responses. Speaking seriously,I don't think the prices will " tank ". As others have stated, there might be an adjustment...which means they won't be selling for MSRP used anymore. How much lower...nobody knows... But I believe the same will happen with the GT4s once the new ones will be announced and so on...
As for desirability goes,I have no doubt the manuals will be in minority, but I also believe they will be very sought after, especially in the 2nd hand market. That is the case with any future and present sports car that comes with a manual transmission period! No question about it! It's a dying technology, but definitely most enjoyable. Automatics have been and will continue to exist and improve. How many Ferraris with the F1 tranny are being sought after? PDK will follow the same road once the better PDK comes out...

Nobody really knows yet, but a < 9k rpm engine in the .2 should help support 991.1 GT3 prices. It becomes that much more special.

That, and I expect a bump of the base price to 145-150K for the .2 GT3 which will help support the 991.1 GT3 prices as the 991.1 GT3 will go down as one of the best deals of all time for a high-end sports car.

Why would they lower the redline if they stick in a 3.8L? They are revision 10 or something like that already and seem to finally have it figured out.
Why would they forego the opportunity to sell us GT3/GT3RSs AND GT2/GT2RSs? This talk of no GT3 and going straight to turbo would be a huge loss of profit for Porsche. Regardless of what they race or how fast Ferrari and McLaren's cars are, they'll sell lots of the last NA GT3s.
When the turbo GT car comes, does anyone think it will be 4 liters? Sounds big for turbos.
