Just decals - wasn't sure I would like it so didn't want to do something too extreme.

I have it, but it's just at storage. It was trailered for new car prep, then trailered from their to storage. I saw it when it was last at the dealer. Hopefully we get some better weather and I'll take it out soon!

Here are some pics of my "RS Grun" PTS car. It's an amazing color that really changes with the light. Very similar to Signal Green, but definitely a little different in person.

Default 'Birch Green' vs 'Acid Green'...

'Acid Green' has been recently approved. It's pretty close
to 'Lichtgrün'..but I didn't think it was approved in time for
the 991 gt3 RS which had a color deadline of July 2015!

Thanks!

I had a gut feeling the color was 'Lichtgrün/Birch Green'.
It is one of my favorite vintage colors from the early 911
period, although it was introduced in MY1974.

It was also one of the colors chosen for the Penske 'International
Race of Champions' 911 RSR's. Read more on this other thread

A little history. At Porsche, I remember seeing 'Acid Green'
paint first on the calipers of the 918 Spyder prototypes.

It was followed up by the same color calipers & lower rear view mirrors
on the Limited Edition 911 Turbo S for the 918 owners...

Since 'Acid Green' interior trim seat accents were available on the
918, customers started to request the color 'Acid Green' as PTS for
that exclusive model. I found out about the request when I attended
The Thermal 918 test driving date after talking to Melissa Witek at
the Nov 2013 event!

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...st-2013-a.html

And at a follow up driving test in June of 2014, I specifically
addressed the topic of 'Acid Green' feasibility study for the 918...
before it was even considered for the regular 991 or 981 series.
As of that date, Melissa confirmed to me that 'Acid Green' had
not yet been approved for the 918 & suggested that those interested
had the option of going with 'Lichtgrün/Birch Green' (253) since
it was almost similar.

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...june-25th.html

***

Eventually, 'Acid Green' was approved for the 918...

as well as an alternative version called 'Acid Green Metallic'!

***

As with many of the special paints allowed for VIP 918 customers
(for example 'Sport Classic Grey'), 'Acid Green' was finally approved
for regular 991/718 customers. But that happened fairly recently.
As of Feb 2016 it wasn't approved...or even under feasibility. And
then mysteriously it shows up on the latest approved PTS list (which
is probably dated in April of 2016), but with no change status. So my
guess is that it was approved & included on the March 2016 PTS
list initially.

Lovely 'Mexico Blue'...another vintage early 911 color! Beachwood
does seem to have some great photographers on hand to do special
shots of their customer's cars!

Eduardo, GREAT post.

I assume all PTS orders are delayed an additional four to six months or has that time delay been reduced?

The normal time delay to PTS, from what I was told by the
previous manager of 'Porsche Exclusive' in the US (Sascha
Glaeser
), is three months. That is from the time when your
dealer inputs into the PCNA/PAG order book computer system
(assuming your dealer has allocation for a particular model
& the PTS window is open according to PAG
) to the actual
production date of your vehicle. It can be longer than that...
as most 991 gt3 RS owners found out...but never less than
that! The delays of PTS orders on the 991 gt3 RS are well
documented. I'll let the owners that have experienced the
delays comment on it.

We have something in common. I think the fact

It's been a busy couple of months. We sold Carmel,
found a place in Scottsdale, moved out of a home we
had lived for 16 years & are presently arranging the
move of all our 'stuff' to Arizona. To say it's been
'hectic' time in the past 90 days is an understatement.

But, having said all of that, who hasn't taken note
of your new 'Signal Green' 991 gt3 RS! I think I first
saw it on CNN's Headline News...or was that 'Good
Morning America'? And then the threads on Rennlist.
So yes, we have noticed it for sure! It looks great.
Congratulations! Enjoy it in good health!

And yes, I love the many shades of PTS 'Green' at
Porsche. 'Signal Green' 217, 22S & W25...all lovely.
Then there is 'Lichtgrün/Birch Green', 'Chartreuse/
Lindgrün', 'Gelbgrün', 'Grün', 'Reingrün/Pure Green',
'Olive', etc. So yes, I am enchanted with the PTS
'greens' at Porsche!

You probably have already answered this question,
but what color did you use for your 'Yellow' trim
accent paint? It looks lighter than 'Speedgelb'!

This is not in any way a complaint as I have a GT3 to keep me busy, just commenting on PTS build times. I have a PTS RS arriving soon (6/24). Originally, the car was scheduled for delivery in November if no PTS. Once I got PTS, I couldn't turn the opportunity down no matter the delay. The car was pushed to April, then May, then July and now back to late June.

911, GT cars and all) that there was only 109 PTS 911s delivered.
I find that to be so low but he was adamant that it's a fact. Can
you check out that thread and chime in. I find that to be so low.
But you never know.
AC: It would be helpful if you can identify the thread
& post that your are referring to.

It would indeed be 'news' to see the source of information
for the 109 Porsches done in PTS for MY2015. I have never
been privileged to that information...and I have asked many
times. Same for the exact colors done in any given year in
recent times. But keep in mind that low numbers of PTS in
MY2015 is to be expected. In the early Fall of 2014, PAG
announced a moratorium on all PTS at Porsche, allegedly
to get their 'act together' with regards to the PTS process.
They were having some quality issues which were documented
here at Rennlist & PAG decided to look into how to improve
the entire PTS process.

There is mounting evidence that the approx. 30 PTS 991 gt3s built
in March 2015 as late allocations in just three colors ('Signal Green',
'Arena Red Metallic' & 'Fashion Grey') were a manufacturing test run
to see whether or not the new, improved PTS methods & planned
logistics at Porsche were working as planned. More about this
interesting new 'development' (or twist in the story) in a future
post on this other thread:
