1st oil change
Getting close to 1000 mi mark. Is it too early to change the oil? @ What mileage did you perform your 1st oil change?

I've always done it at 1,200 miles.
No science to it; just have done it seemingly forever.

After break in was complete and before running the engine all the way to redline. In my case that was about 1500 miles on the replacement engine. I didn't have the first engine long enough to finish break in and do an oil change....

Did mine at 1200.

Change it at 1K. Here is another tip. Get your car moving right after start up. On start up the mixture goes full rich and washes the oil off of the cylinders. Run the car at less than 3k until you reach operating temperatures.

Thanks guys. What a team. Looks like between 1K to 1500 is the answer. I always move the car after start start up. Everything starting to get loose and I can't stop smiling. I absolutely love this car. Mid range is fantastic. I drive it every chance I get.

Changed mine last month at 2000 miles. I did the break in conservatively but got it done fairly quickly with a few long drives over the last 4 months. I asked the dealer about Mobil 1 5W-50 and he said they didn't stock it ???? So 0W-40 this time, which has worked well on my 997S.
