Take the GT3RS wing off for DD or driving around town?

It CAN be done; the aerodynamic imbalance doesn't matter at any sane street speed; and none of the above aesthetic opinions matter. It's your car, do as you please!

I cannot believe all the comments about the car being loose w/o the wing on the streets.. And all the electronic nannies on these cars none the less...
Sorry but you are not pushing the car that hard on the streets.
I think it look real cool BTW. My neighbor has a 991 WB w/ a duck tail. Car looks sexy.

Ok, I'll bite....
Totally have to own the wing. It's the persona of the car! I was 40 when I bought my Evo 9. No wing insecurities. Amazing car btw...
Have a cuppa joe and eat a doughnut off of it like Monkey Harris...

I took the wing off my 997.2RS for about 6 months and daily drove it - until i sold the car - no issues what so ever for daily driving you don't need the downforce is my guess !! drove on freeways and no issues whatsoever.

Because Race Car.. Last year I ran the Mitty in my Race Car in GT (w/ Aero) and another class w/o aero. Back to Back. Car was all over the place w/o the aero... BUT you are talking 1,000lbs+ spring weight to compensate for the massive aero downforce and on a race track! at race track speeds and cornering. So I understand what you are saying... And I'm sure you'd agree that your 991RS is fast but the suspension is cadillac like compared to your Race Car which is set up for aero downforce. The RS is a great car but it's a street car. and this thread and forum is street limits.

The big deal about the 911 R is that it is going to be a great street car. Well it has the same motor and other things. I think the area where the GT3RS will be even better for street use is its PDK. I would rather drive the GT3RS PDK in stop and go traffic than 911R MT. If the wing is removed for street use then the rear view mirror will be more clear and the risk of damage to the wing from parking lots and other things will be neutralized by taking the wing off. It (the wing) will be back on for performance driving. The GT3RS will however be a superior car to 911R on the street If the wing is taken down and perhaps even with the wing, minus what some would call the MT. The duck tail looks better than the sloping back lid.

I'm liking the look with out the wing, and wouldn't worry about arrow at all. Hell you change tires, readjust the shocks, and adding and removing the wing for track days seems like the right thing to do, really. Will it make the car less conspicuous? To the day to day folk, Yes, You'll just be another porcupine to them, to the supper attentive car watcher, No...But they will like the look for sure.
