Well, if it's old and cool the rules are broken. Hipsters are different than greenies, and not often the same. Hipsters like their beer hoppy, t-shirts ironic, coffee single origin (espresso please!), music on vinyl (or cassette!), cars old, and jeans skinny. They aren't hippies...

yeah but they are all followers. follow trends and like to be part of a sub-group. like they think they are underground, but actually very mainstream.
you talk to them and they tell you that they are innovators.....haha

in my experience any group of people with common traits be it hipsters, hippies, car geeks, computer nerds, jocks, corvette owners, baby boomers, right wing, left wing, or whatever are mocked by some outside group of people that fit into some other group with common traits and are mocked for something else, by someone else.
