GT3 To GT4- Mostly Daily Driving
Just wondering from the guys that went from GT3 to GT4. Any regrets? Better for daily driving? I may do some track, but most of it will be driving around town...Thanks in advance.

Yes imo
As a daily, the gt4 is awesome. Better on the street than the gt3 for the fact that it's hard to use the gt3 to even half its potential. Namely high revs.
The manual gearbox is perfect, whether tooling around or pushing to the limit.
I like it so much, I added a spyder. Which, if possible, seems even better due to the sounds it makes with the top off...

You have to decide what you are looking for. You'r better off going over to the GT4 forum and proposing this question. There are many over their that added and also traded.

Agree with lumber. Spyder is the best around town. The sound is great. the MT lovely even if you encounter traffic. Besides its so pretty. GT3 is a track monster that is irreplaceable IMO...unless I finally get my RS

Porsche nailed them all- Spyder, GT4, GT3 and RS plus the Unicorn 911R. It is hard to just settle for one of these if you have the means, time, and space for two of them. Porsche is really on fire right now

Having to decide which one to take on a given day is a nice problem to have. My DD is usually the F350 because it is about 1500 feet from home to work. GT3 or GT4 is about 10 miles to work for some reason. Always includes a straight walled long under pass on a secondary road, windows open.
For a very raw experience I take the RS out. Total beast on the street the way it is set up, first gear is violent. Once the season starts here it will be off the 888s and on slicks until the Fall.

I have regrets of selling my 991 GT3 and now driving a GT4. The GT4 is a great car, but I miss the GT3. I only sold/traded my 3 for an RS that didn't happen. I then purchased a GT4 to entertain myself until the next GT based 911 car happens for me.
Biggest difference is the power/gearing. It was more fun in the GT3 being able to rip out of second gear (relatively low speed) corners on the street. GT4 doesn't have that explosive pull and with the taller gears, makes it seem that much slower. I'm sure on a track keeping the thing wound up above 5k rpm would keep the cars nearer in terms of speed, but on the street, rarely am I going to be down shifting into 1st at 25 or 30mph just to get the thing in the power. And the GT3 seemed more hard core. That's not what everyone is looking for, but I guess in a GT car, I am. Oh, and the sound of that engine!!! The noise was intoxicating.
But, I'm still enjoying the GT4…really

Me neither.
I love the mid-engine handling of my previous boxster, and the handling was of course even better in my friends GT4 that I drove, however I can't give up the power, proper low gearing, and sound of my GT3.
The GT3 is also aesthetically perfectly integrated, while the wing on the GT4 looks tacked on, almost aftermarket, and the front grill on GT4 has plastic around the running lights that looks cheap, and the front end is overall far less impressive than the 3.
I would love 5-lugs in place of centerlocks, though.
