I was told "we can fix it but no guarantee" is that code for - we are trying to make you feel uncomfortable to buy a new tire from us although the tire is 100 % fixable - or do you guys think i really need a new tire?

i don't go to the track but i do drive a lot in triple digits.

So far, it is tied at 1 vote for "plug it" and 1 vote for "replace ASAP"

If i can just plug it i would do that but wanted to check with what you RL members think

I'm cheap: If not tracking: Plug.
At least consult your wheel repairman.

Edit: Nice vehicle, really nice.

I did and was told "we can fix it but no guarantee" hence why i asked if that is code for - we are trying to make you feel uncomfortable to buy a new tire from us although the tire is 100 % fixable

PS thanks for the compliments!

Then replace the tire. Actually do both. Patch and plug the current tire and keep as an emergency spare. Buy a new matching tire. That part of the tire shoulder is very vulnerable.

You can plug it and probably even track it and be fine but there is extra risk - why chance it?

I had one just like that in a brand new Michelin PSS a couple years back almost same location (close to the sidewall) - they plugged it and recommended I replace asap no more than 100 miles. This was mid roadtrip in Dallas on my way to Colorado and then back to Florida so not much choice on that 100 mile limit - drove about 2,800 miles before I finally got home. Yah I got a lot of miles out of that plug but it's not nearly as fun driving when you know there is a hole in your tire - just replace it.

Plug it save it, and buy a replacement. You only have one life.

1 other thing to consider - how many miles are on that tire? If you get a new tire you may have inconsistency side to side depending on the age/wear

Why is your undercarriage so dirty, are you stunt flying? These cars have remarkable handling, you should be able to steer around these nails.
