As a dealer i enjoy reading these threads. Whoopsy is very accurate.
918 owners got emails a few weeks ago. We have a 918 owner in town. He was unresponsive. I sent salesman to his office to stalk him. He said he never got email. He said we never call. Checked his answering machine and had 5 VM from my store begging him to respond to VIP Email. He did. He's getting a car.
I can input V70's all day. However it is unlikely to affect my true allocated amount of cars. I have 10+ legit dudes in town that have CGT or 2-3 GT3RS+ cars and as much as I love Porsche they will not give me all 10-15 cars to sell to my 10-15 dudes.

The only problem is for Porsche to figure out the (max) price at which the demand closely matches their capacity to fully meet it. For the gt2rs that may still be well above (the high) msrp. They seem to be getting this and will probably price high-demand/low-supply cars much higher going forward.

Not every dude that could buy a gt2rs will want to buy one. If you have 10 dudes that want one at $350k, and Porsche can't make them for you, that only means that Porsche had underpriced the car. I bet that at $650k all dudes that want a gt2rs will get one.

If they moved to this type of system, people would leave the brand behind..
Because 10/10 guys want the GT2RS @ $400k, you think it's plausible to charge a quarter Mill on top? hahahaha.. Comon!
There shouldn't be any games if your playing in this price range.

spot on ! Can't agree more.
Its all about figure, how many and how much !
They have sell 911 for more than 50 years, I don't think it's hard for them to dig out the acurate number to produce enough car, at the same time make sure all customers are happy and fell special enough with their toy.

This is hilarious. It's almost as if you're pushing an agenda here.. This auction style system will put Porsche out of business!
If they moved to this type of system, people would leave the brand behind..

And no agenda here. To me, a car like the gt2rs is not worth more than $150k, and even that would be generous.

Boys the key here the cars will will not be special if everyone got one! Do you see people losing their shorts on a 720 MAC nope because if you want one you can get one. Wrong or right Porsche plays the game and watches the rats run in panic. Humans want what they can't have no matter how much.

Your post is incoherent. If no one wants a gt2rs at $650k that's probably not the price at which it will/should sell. Porsche can't ask prices no one will pay. It only needs to ask the prices at which the number of people that want one matches their capacity to make them. I don't see how asking market prices for their product has made anyone go out of business.
And no agenda here. To me, a car like the gt2rs is not worth more than $150k, and even that would be generous.

You believe the 2RS is not worth more than $150k but you're all for a system that would increase the price and place this vehicle further out of reach?
Sounds to me like sour grapes...

$140k for a 997 GT3 RS
$245k for a 997 GT2 RS
$105k increase or 75% premium to GT3 RS
$176k for a 991 GT3 RS
$293k for a 991 GT2 RS
$117k increase or 66% premium to GT3 RS
Increase will be even smaller vs 991.2 GT3 RS, so on a % basis it was lower and I would expect on a $ basis it'll be about the same.
What are people surprised by?

I think people who want the car to be limited are "Selfish" Cars like this bring happiness into the world, why would anyone want to limit production, also the price alone limits sales, no need for artificial limits. If you want "exclusive" ask Porsche to make yours exclusive or customize it yourself. I hope all of you who wants one can get one, when that happens ADM and flipping will die and we will all have a better time
