I share the exact same concern. It seems that at this point the only solution is less weight. But it's not going to happen within 991 generation. Probably not even within 992. Maybe one day we can get GT4 RS/CS with a CF tub and under 2800 weight - that might do it.

If they did, I would fly to germany to get the clubsport package and send it home.

Porsche really needs to bring back the floor plates on all their GT cars worldwide.... damn lawyers get in the way i suppose...
(first person to find a factory cage in USA and get killed in the car will have their estate sue no matter how drunk or stupid they were. And porsche is sick of BS american law suits... Paul Walker, Diesel gate etc)
Totally agree with the BS law suits like Paul Walker's daughters suit. Yes it's a tragedy, but unless we're supposed to drive around in nerf cars with top speeds of 12mph, responsibility needs to be taken by those who abuse the cars in ways that are not abiding by the law on the streets or realize if they're on track, there are inherent risks and even Professional drivers die on track. They assume that risk anytime you get into a car, street or track. As for Dieselgate, I have no problem with VW getting raked over the coals by it. They tried to cheat the system and willfully deceived the public, their customers and the government regulators. They got hit hard, but in my opinion, they should have gotten hit even harder! Nobody is above the law, they know the laws, if they don't want to abide by them because they're too stringent, don't produce cars in that segment or in those markets. Seems pretty simple to me.

OMG this is hilarious! He definitely comes across as more concerned with what color his stitching is, than the weight of the wheels or compound of the tires. But that all being said, he specs out his cars beautifully and DOES drive them. Also, I look at his vids as less of an auto journo and more of just someone who has genuine excitement about his new toys. Which is just fine with me. He can sometimes get annoying, but generally, he's just enjoying life and it's lighthearted and fun. Not such a bad thing to be in those shoes and just be able to share your excitement for cars with the rest of the world.

I agree! It still looked great, but it seemed like the rear-wheel steering wasn't as aggressive as in earlier vids. Since it's testing, maybe they're just testing with rws either disabled or with different steering ratios. Maybe they're testing different front aero packages and rear-wing angles. Or as often the case, the car may actually be in the midst of testing different tires and being tested by tire companies and not actually Porsche themselves. I know that sounds weird, but trust me, that's what they do when they're developing tires for cars such as this which will initially be a proprietary tire made specifically for this model at first.

Tires: Remember that the cars drive on Nürburgring för test purposes: Various tires, various setups etc. I don't think we can draw any deeper conclusions from these videos.

I will meet my friend who was offered a ride in the GT2RS on Monday. I hope he pulled it off.

Nice Kobalt,
Looking forward to the review. Bring some extra underwear. 700hp in a 991rs will be epic and I'm also interested in what tires they will offer.

But comes with the territory, no? Losing 100-200lbs or having less rear weight bias might help a bit but 650-700hp is going to roast tires no matter.

It doesn't start right away (see it from 7:05), but see how much faster the gt2 is in relation to the rest, it's madness, sounds like a dementor.

Those intakes make no sense in my mind, I do remember seeing prototype gt2 without them, my only guess would be a brake duct or some radiator, probably a brake duct.

Will the side intakes (near the rear wheel) be covered like in the prototype or open like in a TT / .1 RS? Generally, willthe lines still be more refined in the release car?
