Wait a minute... so now you're questioning Lars Kern and his knowledge of the car he drove for his record run? You think he doesn't know what tires were on the car? LOL*

Similarly, I guess it's a good thing the crew was wearing their Porsche jackets, or I doubt Lars would know what brand he was driving for. Can you only imagine his shock when they opened the front hood and the freaking engine was gone! Wish I had THAT moment on tape.

I think you are correct. Haven't heard of any 2019 production and doubt there will be a 2019 model year for GT2RS. The last time GT2RS came out was 2010-2011 model year. Couple this with the production of 992 models, I doubt they will churn this model as much as they can. y

Also like what whoopsy mentioned the limited edition GT2RS ca be ordered through Porsche Motorsport. If this s a "track-only" car, I will take a pass. But if this is street usable, I'm in and my dealer will check into this.

Drive safe,
GT3RS-Fan1

I am now v300 and the car should be in Emden by Monday. The shipping schedule looks bleak - No boats leaving for Jax at all on the schedule is for the next 6 weeks. I am hoping they make a change and add a boat or the car will just sit there. The schedule has not been updated since 7/19, not that I'm watching it or anything.

That's the worst feeling, knowing your car might sit at the port for an extended period of time sucks! Anytime that a car sits at port for longer than normal worries me because it opens up to the possibility of accidents or damage from the workers at the port. Cars are constantly moving in and out at the port.

Correct, but you might see a few cars leaving the factory in the first two months of 2019, as a 2018 model.

I'm in the exact same boat, I bet our cars rolled off the line together. My car is also coming into Jacksonville.

Another member told me that he has had cars come on ships that were not on the schedule, that's all we can hope for. It would suck really bad if are cars sit in port for a month before shipped....fingers crossed....

Glad I have a friend! Please keep me posted and I'll do the same. Do you have your VIN?
Mine ends in 5497.

Hello future GT2RS owners. My boat left Emden July 17, arrived at Halifax July 27. Left Halifax for Jacksonville and then to Houston. ETA at Port of Houston August 13. My car is about two weeks ahead of schedule. The car hopefully will be at the dealer third or fourth week of August.

Drive safe,
GT3RS-Fan1

If your interest is in the 70 special "Race qualified 991 GT2RS Models" from Porsche Motorsport, They will be sold as my 1995 993 GT2 Weissach model was through Porsche Motorsports.
These cars will not meet the Governmental requirements for Road Cars and the buyers will not be given the Manufacturers Statement of Origin required for registration.
You will also be required to sign a statement that you will NEVER EVER attempt to register them for road use, as I was required to sign - just in case some overly zealous
State employee attempts to register your car and overlooks the necessary conformance requirements. Of course, they would be great fun at HPDE's which the owners
would claim were all "Race Practice Laps" and likely elevate you to be the eternal "HPDE CHAMPION". Alternatively, Porsche would likely include those cars into a separate
GT Turbo PCA Race Class as they did the 993 GT2. With the additional HP comes additional stress on engine and chassis and more frequent rebuilding with more expensive
components and parts, likely an order of magnitude more than a Street GT3 and at least twice the cost of running the NA GT3 Race Car.

Received from the dealer today:

V215 status
Production date - 11/30/18
ETA - 2/08/19

Original allocation - makes it look like the original allocation of 2RS will soak up most of, if not all, '18 production. I guess they could create a '19 MY to alleviate some demand.

The GT2 "ClubSport" was never a road car. It was built as a race car and will be selling as a race car. You cannot and do not want to drive it on the street anyways. Porsche basically took a Cup car, swapped the street GT2RS' engine and gearbox in, add some extra aero bits and voila!

It's basically is a track day special. Not build to any race spec. It's a race car with street car engine/transmission, so the running cost is super low compared to race cars with race engines.
