I will share what my Porsche Center here in Switzerland told me about confirmed allocations.
As of last Friday they got 8 confirmed allocations for GT2 RS (I do not have one of them).
They have been told by AMAG to keep the excess orders in the system and do not cancel them yet, because there is the potential for an extra two allocations before all is said and done.
I am hopeful about one of the extra two, if it will ever happen ...
Consequently they will get between 8 and 10 GT2 RS ... whereas they got 33 (thirty-three) GT3 RS MK1 allocations in total.
From this single data point, I would guess the total production WW may be around 1000-1500 cars.
Just my 2 cents for your evaluation.

They have to keep the GTE door open on this engine that might be on next my19/my20 RSR
well over 1000 1500
they have to exceed with more than 2000 GT2RS
needed to meet WEC regulations (RSR has a swapped
engine position)

Looking at this photo of the underbody, I wonder why Porsche doesn't eliminate the center muffler to allow for a much larger diffuser to exit the bumper. Since this car has the strongest motorsports focus, it would seem to be the direction they would go.
It's a spectacular car!

A car spent just under 1 working day inside the factory. So your timing has to be perfect.
But the timing part is the trickiest. A car is not confirmed to get into the factory floor until a few days before hand, for European customers it's not that big a deal, everywhere is only a 2hr flight away, but for North American it's the better part of a day plus the time zone change.
Communication is also key. Since Europe are basically just one big timezone, multiple emails can be exchanged on a single day to coordinate. But for North Americans, the email exchange takes a couple days round trip just because of the time differences.
PCNA just don't have that kind of manpower or effort to finesse these tricky timing for customers. Hence basically they just tell people it's a no go.
It's the same back then even for the 918, which spend 2 1/2 day on the factory floor, you would think that's easier to coordinate as the window is bigger. Nope. I did a visit back then and I almost didn't make it. I got about 6 days' notice in European time but basically 4 1/2 days on North American time, had to confirm I am coming, drop/reschedule everything, find flights and then fly over and I only just made it, the car was already 60% done.
Basically the only way you can see your own car on the line will be waiting in Europe around the time your can is scheduled to go into production and also hope PCNA is competent enough to get you production information as quickly and accurately as possible, a very tall order.

If you want to see your car go down the line best to make a week holiday of it and stay in Stuttgart close to maximize your chances seeing the build ,,,as Whoopsy said above it still can be difficult to get the timing right sometimes and easy to miss the build process .....All part of the adventure and good fun ..
