Hate to say it, - but "If you have to ask.........."
For what it's worth, the GT2 is a great car, docile and easy to drive fast.
Mine was from the first group of cars made. 450 HP PAG Rated engine which Dynoed at 550 HP with Boost set at 1 Bar (TAG ECU with 4 Boost Levels.
Woefully inadequate Wing and Splitter, but a Crawford Wing and huge front
Splitter fixed that.
My GT2 was competitive for 10 years, 1995 - 2005. But a VERY expensive car to race in PCA, SCCA, HSR and other Club Racing. Porsche recommends 30 Hour rebuilds of Engine and Tranny. I ran my Engine until it broke leading a WGI Race at 50 Hours. $75K for Engine Rebuild and $25K for Tranny. $2K for new set of Tires at every race. 3rd Lap on Pirelli Slicks was the fastest. After an hour in a race they were only good for practice. Centerlock Axle broke after 30 Track hours with $50K in body damage. 3 Sets of Aluminum BBS Wheels all showed Center cracks after 60 Track hours. Add New Axles, Brake Rotors, Pads, Alignment, Maintenance, Travel and support and it closely approaches the Hourly cost of flying a BBJ LOL.
Although we may complain about the cost of running our GT3's in HPDE's, it is chump change compared to what it would cost to Race a GT2 - And to own any Race Car without Racing it, IMHO, is like being married to the most gorgeous gal
you ever met while restraining from sex.

Did you replace the axle's when you replaced the motor? Most people don't realize the axles time out as well and need replacement and cost a freaking fortune.

It was my own fault for not replacing the Centerlock axles as Porsche had recommended. Learned that when you see a rear wheel going faster than you are down the hill around the last Turn at Road Atlanta, better pay attention. It might be yours. It was!!!!! And a Tire Rainstorm followed. - LOL!!!
Seriously, the huge Torque required to hold Centerlock Wheels on, concentrates the entire Torque that normally is divided among 5 Lugs, into holding the Wheel on while pulling the Axle apart Longitudinally. This enormous pressure increases substantially by the Cornering forces on Tracks. This further multiplies that pressure and will eventually stress that Axle into breaking. Not a matter of "IF"
but simply "When". I've never been a fan of Centerlocks since and I'll be following Porsche's guidelines on axle replacement very carefully both on my GT3 and TTS.

Road Atlanta is a very fast track...not one where I'd like to lose a wheel!
I nearly bit it in turn one a couple weeks ago when we found out my left rear toe was out 5.5mm from those insane curbs!
