The way i understand it, in Germany only you flash when you are 1. going very fast and 2. They can move right and get back in your land without lifting (much). 1 takes priority over 2.

The left blinker only works in France and ONLY if they can move right without lifting. Use it anywhere else or when the frenchies can't go right without braking and you will be there forever. It's Franse you know..

I found that in both countries and a couple more the 4 dots inspires drivers to move right with a bit more urgency..

And in Italy everybody in the left lane has the left indicator on all the time.
Maybe we should go with yellow headlights in Germany. Thinking cup car coming up.
I always put my hand out of the window as soon as I see yellow headlights on track.

Now that the 8th has pasted any idea when the dealers will know if they got any non 918 allocations for the R. Do they know already? Or do they need a day or two to come up with reasons why you need to keep your deposit with them and not return it? Probably the first subject in the morning meeting. Just giving them a hard time I know they all would like to have gotten a few cars. Easy sale for the dealer.
Also would be nice to know if anyone gets offered a car only at market price. Would like to know what dealers I will never call in the future.

I'm being cynical here but how much the dealerships will try to sell over MSRP! Betting real money some dealer's in the USA will automatically start at $100K over. That is not unless you arr on the 918 list and haven't flipped your car.

Not my words. They should call the 911R the 918/911R and tell the rest of us to go pound sand up our *****. We are not worthy.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to shed a little light on the 911 R allocation so you can all manage expectations with inquiries. Worldwide production is 991. The US typically receives 25%-30% of volume depending on the model; using those percentages, that would put the allocation range in the 247-297 range. There were 299 918’s delivered and call it 20 of those are not eligible because they flipped the car. At this point not one 918 owner has turned down the offer for the 911 R. Roughly 279 will be spoken for (918 VIPs) so that leaves maybe a handful remaining for other “VIP” customers. This is what I was told this morning from Atlanta. These numbers are NOT exact, but give you an idea to manage expectations as you receive questions from clients.

In conversation with friends over dinner, I don't have a chance in hell of getting this car, best I can do is say "I signed the purchase agreement".

I really don't hate the 918 buyers, but would not morn them if they all crashed and burned in their 918s.

Mmmm wrong.
I know of a 918 owner that could care less about the R, and has turned down his allocation...

I guess my beef is with Porsche not the 918 owners. Heck if I wanted a 918 and could afford it and bought one I would take an R also. Porsche must have really thought the 918 was not going to sell to work out that deal and not care about the rest of us. Did not have to do that deal for the GT Carrera people a few years back.
So if I am not really a good customer in the Porsche corporate world I will get my next SUV from another company. No more Cayenne's for me.
Will have to stay with the 911 until next generation GT3 and GT3RS's come out and try again on the endless dealer lists. Not going to pay over MSRP either!!!!. That will be were my patience runs out and will have to look at something else if I still don't get a car.
Build more and stop this. Seen the 2017's are coming in, anybody on a list for one of me these????? I think not.

Quite frankly, I don't think it's worth paying much over msrp for this car. Not even sure if it'll hold value over time given the number of similar cars produced - 991.1/.2 GT3 & GT3RS. At $100k over msrp, I'd buy a 675 or a 488. The limited build is pure marketing and very different from the homologation scenario in 1967.
