991RS wheels: OEM vs. WEC RSR magnesium vs. BBS FI-R

Hard to decide which is the best wheel for the RS... Imagine them all in satin black finish, here are the specs: (not 100% sure about the weight, just got the info from the net and here at RL)

WEC RSR magnesium wheels:
16lbs front and 21lbs rear per wheel.
74lbs. Total

BBS FI-R wheels:
17.8lbs front and 23.2lbs rear per wheel.
82lbs. Total

GT3RS OEM wheels:
102lbs. Total

Leaning towards the WEC BBS wheels since it's something special with motorsport technology, lightest among the 3, similar design with the 991RSR/918 Weissach package wheels and same material with the RS roof which is magnesium!

FI-R wheels are around $10,000 then for the WEC wheels.... Lets just say you can buy at least 2 sets of FI-R! One in silver and one in satin black! LOL!

The WEC RSR wheels are very similar with the 918 Weissach package wheels, also the weight, size and offset!

Has anyone tried to run something smaller than 21" in the rear?

GMG did 19" all around. I was thinking 20" rear but BBS didn't make any for the RS.

If cost is not out of the question the WEC RSR are incredible BUT really $19,950 is crazy! Magnesium if unlimited budget.

BBS FI-R
GT3RS
20 x 9.5
21 x 12.5
MSRP $9700/set

GT3
20 x 9
20 x 12
MSRP $8900/set

Seem like a steal in comparison! We have sets coming in for GT3RS. We have sets in stock for GT3 now.

True story! HA! Both BBS factory colors and still have $2000 in your pocket.

Of the 3 I'd go with the BBS.

WEC RSR, for form and function.

MoeGt3 02-27-2016 03:38 PM

The BBS FI-R for me

OEM looks the nicest and most aggressive to me.

+1

If cost is of no concern, go for the WEC RSR's, I think they look awesome and that's a significant weight savings in rotational and unsprung weight!
