I would actually get TI bends to build my stuff instead of pie cuts. Pie cuts are A LOT cheaper for the material but there sure is a lot more welding.
Oh yeah for sure, pie looks pretty for after turbo section but headers, never.

Always up for some vids!
Hi Nick,

They're all in this thread and a few others. Matt wasn't able to do Vbox, huracan video is still pending, there were "traction issues" with the Lambo...

Pm me you email address and I'll send you all we've got!

What alloy of Ti would you use and what, if any, coating would you use?

I think the "standard" is grade 1 or grade 2. There is another one that can be mandrel bent but I'm not sure on what grade that is or the entire process as I only do TI work here and there. I will have to do some homework. Most of the TI work I do is someone giving me a load of parts or materials to weld up.

Given the oxidation point of Ti, this will result in a short lived system, the closer to the engine the shorter. If you are going to make Ti exhausts, can you get Timet Ti XT and have it PVD coated as used and done by Akrapovic? If not, inconel will be better for your use though inconel radiates heat (as opposed to Ti which insulates heat) and cannot be too close to painted surfaces or plastic parts.

I agree and understand. I have actually never built any TI headers from scratch. I do a lot on inconel though. I even have a full inconel headers and exhaust on a gt3 going on 6 years now and probably close to 150-200hrs and no issues. I prefer inconel over TI even though the material is a lot more expensive. 20ga TI is nice for exhaust tubing but my default is 20ga 321.

I would prefer to build from 20-22ga 625 than TI, just getting someone willing to pay the cost increases is hard and rare to find.

Thank you for your expertise. It appears as if your inconel solution is best.

Default Video - Not Super Helpful

So I followed a white GT3 down the back straight at Sebring on Saturday. I tried to time my throttle with his, but who knows. I don't know this car or whether it was stock. I'm not apparently pulling on him til about half-way down the back straight (about 15-16 seconds in). The dramatic catch at the end of the straight is because he let off to hit the brakes. I'm not sure this tells us a whole lot. I did feel like I was pulling a bit over 100mph or so.

One other quick note - I did seem to pickup 2 or 3 mph at the end of the back straight. With Dundon I hit 149 regularly before braking, last event was 147. To be fair, I had new tires this time, so I could have been coming off of 16 faster. Overall, my average time this event was 3 seconds faster, but that's mostly new tires and a track alignment. Last time out was stock alignment with tires with over 10,000 miles. My corner speeds were much higher this time with new tires and some camber.

Appreciate your efforts!
Like you stated just to hard to tell. Not that I am a huge 1/4 fan it is the best tool for gauging HP gains.
