^ Nothing has been confirmed. I'm just perpetuating the rumors.
But if it has the RS engine, RS expensive lightweight pieces, and being produced in a fraction of the RS's numbers, then that price does not seem far off.
That said, the photos here do not show the RS magnesium roof or CF frunk, as I believe we have seen on (what appeared to be) previous 911R prototypes. Doesn't have LWB seats, either.

Three Wheelin'
Honestly Porsche just needs to give a manual option in the GT3 and GT3 RS. The demand for this car and the GT4 proves that people still want manuals. I have a deposit down on the 911r, I highly doubt I'll get one. Even if I do get one, I'm not purchasing it at 270k.

Surprised there are haters of is car. - I want a 911 r bad!!!
Lightweight. Manual. Possibly for the last time ever. What's not to love?
Unfortunately - Sounds like I won't be able to get one.

I think it will be awesome! I'm not a buyer, but it will hit the sweet spot for many. Probably more than they will make. Even @ $270k!
And I look at it from the bright side. These 600-911 lucky ones will pay for the R/D to hook up the 4.0l to a MT for the rest of us to enjoy with the 991gt3.2. 😄😄😄

Not bad. I was able to skip my Ambien last night after checking out the photos.

Id say the 4.0L from the RS because the 3.8L has been somewhat troublesome for Porsche.
I expect auto blip manual like the GT4.
Over priced will be expected.
They will sell every one.
The 991GT3 with PDK and Aero is a better car FWIW.

Burning Brakes
911R could be the widow maker.. more driving pleasure on the street with lower grip and aero.. could be the perfect ride for GT3/RS owners who don't track. I like the idea.. i just hope it looks better than the car in these photos.

I heard ducktail a few times in the past - that could look good

Photos not inspiring much excitement. Would like to think this is not the final form and that they're keeping their cards very close to their chest on this car. Even that diffuser looks unfinished. I still really hope they do something suitably distinctive with the appearance of this car beyond mixing panels from existing cars and paint and decals (hopefully subtle but telltale cues like flared arches, unique lights, etc...) and even more so with what lies beneath its featherweight skin.

I have zero interest in the R but the rear diffuser is interesting. I've always wondered why Porsche didn't do a rear diffuser on the GT3. It's an aero mod with little downside and seems to be a standard feature on cars in the GT3's class.
