HGMS Battleship Grey Porsche 991 GT3 RS Project
HG Motorsports Battleship Grey Porsche 991 GT3 RS Project
Here we go with the top of line 911. This is an absolutely stunning Porsche 991 GT3 RS that we aptly named “Battleship” Grey. This GT3 RS started life as a white RS and was wrapped matted grey by SD Wrap. They did a really clean job. Unless you look at the door jambs to see that the car is really white underneath, you would think it’s all factory.
We’re going to do this thread in two parts.
Let’s begin, with the roll bar.
Here’s the thing… there’s debate as to whether or not the standard GT3 should have a roll bar or not. That’s really up to the owner to decide, but if it’s going to do track duty, then it should. However, the 991 GT3 RS just looks naked inside without a roll bar. I mean, just look at the photos of the empty deck behind the seats. It really needs that bar. Specially since you know it’s an RS. Yeah, function first, but the interior looks a lot more complete with it.
Our tech of all things cool, Alain Alba, took to the task of installing the BBI GT3 roll bar. This is not the first BBI Autosport GT3 roll bar he installs, so by it’s all done at absolute boss level. Notice that we did the trimming and the carpet cutting. The work looks flawless.
The bar was powder-coated gloss black. It works perfectly with the overall monochromatic theme of the car.
Check out all the photos below. We couldn’t just put the roll bar and interior photos. So, there are a couple of glamour shots of the car. Just had to.

Part two of the HG Motorsports Battleship Grey Porsche 991 GT3 RS Project…
This part of the project involved installing the HRE P101 black wheels and Dunlop tires. The set of HREs is a very stunning satin black Centerlock wheel that goes perfectly with the car. P101s are common on super cars, and the 991 GT3 RS is really nothing short of a supercar. Even if we are used to thinking about 911s as the every day super car, we all know the RS is a big leap above that.
The car got a set of new Dunlops. The tires are 265/35/20 front and 325/30/21 rear Dunlop Sport Maxx Race N0 OEM GT3 RS tires. These are the stock spec tires for the car.
The wheels and tires pretty much completed the project. Check out the photos below.
There is a blog post with more details about this step here: https://www.hgmotorsports.com/hre-p1...he-991-gt3-rs/
