doh!

Yes, it’s an F/2015.

FYI, I have a habit of changing oil every 4 events, and except for a few turns where I upshift early, it’s on the automatic mode on the track.

For the street, I shift manually, and keep it no lower than 2500rpm. Usually at least 3k.

No puttering around engine speeds for me.

When was your car produced? Before March 2015? Do you know the original Enginenumber?

(The replacement engine was produced in 2018!, right?)

Perhaps I missed it, but have we ever established how many engines have been replaced?? Does anyone have knowledge of how many GT3 991.1s were built? I heard 4,000, but that is hearsay only.

I'm sure stories like this puts a smile on the face on Rob and the other in the group - sort of a payback on the amazing work they did.

Even though I'm not effected (yet - RS) I'm still thankful to you guys who helped extending the warranty.

Without the warranty extension I would have sold my car already, so I too am immensely grateful for the effort Rob and Co put into this. BTW you with the RS do not have to worry about this problem as none are affected

Hi folks,
i just bought a 14 GT3 on it’s 3rd Engine. I have no documentation as to what series it is. I don’t know when its last replacement was. Any speculation. Is there a way to check on the engine itself? I bought it thru a porsche Dealer, has engine warranty until 2014 and CPO.
thanks

^your motor warranty should be good for ten years from inservice date , meaning 2024 or 120k miles open front frunk lid on the right side for engine #'s

Not sure if this is still an active thread. I have a 2015 GT3 that just had the misfire code come up.

F02887 engine code
20,000 miles
Purchase CPO last year with 12,000 miles
17 track days since last July when I purchased
2550 track miles (best guess, 30 miles per session and 5 sessions per day, 17 days)

At dealer now after they ignored the bulletin and replaced #3 plug and coil. Stated that the misfire followed the coil. I picked it up and set the code again within 2 exits from the dealership. Returned vehicle and now waiting to hear back.

Mine initially triggered a CEL Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2 code at first, and then a misfire code near redline in 3rd gear. Tech diagnosed it as a bad coil on #4 cylinder, got the car back Friday. 3 miles later another CEL Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2 code returns. Car exhaust sounds rough and doesn't have the same midrange as before all of this. Just dropped it off again and waiting to hear back. I'll update this thread if it's new engine time.

2015, original F motor, 9900 miles, 3 track days since purchase in February, 450 track miles.

So am I reading this right? You average 150 miles each track day?
