If this in fact a troll thread, the troll has been well fed with pages of suckers chiming in.(including me)
Still, if its real (dont care much either way) this is stupid because whomever paid for the car in the first place should be paying for tires also.
case closed
if they dont pay for tires park it back in thier driveway and explain to them their nice gift can no longer be used because you dont have money to maintain it
but one thing is for sure, complaining about tire price and thinking they should be cheaper holds no water, you want the best, you got it.....and it comes at a price.
now its time to sh it or get off the pot.

Gosh, there really seems like there are a lot of angry people here. I just wanted tire advice. For the record, just because I didn't actually pay for the car, doesn't mean I didn't earn it or deserve it. My benefactor got it for me because they believed I deserved it for things I had accomplished.

Porsche puts on the most extreme street tire you can buy, the MPSC2. This is because the GT3 is meant for the track. So if you're not going to track, it makes sense to put something cheaper and longer lasting on.

Research maintaince costs before purchasing any car especially high end ones. Next you budget in these costs over the years of potential ownership. If you can't afford to replace tires you might want to rethink owning a GT3 until you can. What did you expect a set of tires to cost on a 150k vehicle ?
